Fountain Porter

The glowing twin neon signs help alert parched-throat bar-goers to the presence of Fountain Porter in its quiet, mostly residential home on a strip of South Philly's 10th Street. This bar — its name referencing the nearby Passyunk Singing Fountain — is, quite simply, a bar, one with 20 beers on draft (no bottles/cans), a solid spirits list and friendly neighborhood folk occupying stool space. They take a minimalist approach with food, opting to offer locally sourced meats, cheeses and pickles in lieu of an all-over-the-place gastropubbin' bill of fare.
