Rhino Bar

Chef Mike Stollenwerk's Fish shifted about 100 feet down the way to smaller digs, leaving this much larger corner of the Independent Hotel vacant and ready for new blood. He wasted no time in installing Rhino Bar, a craft beer and pub grub friendly alternative to his award-winning seafood stronghold. There are a few swimmy options here — crispy calamari with long hots, tempura-battered fish tacos, the lobster grilled cheese made popular by Stollenwerk's short-lived Fathom — but it's more about local brews on tap and populist plates of meat in front of you (roast pork egg rolls, meatballs and red gravy, kimchi'd Korean ribs). They serve food late every night, too.
