Cigarette Smoke. My wife and I dined at the Italian Bistro on Broad Street after seeing Grease. The food was satisfactory, the staff pleasant and efficient. What ruined our dining experience was the horrible odor of stale cigarette smoke that seemed to come off of every waiter that passed our table. I neglected to complain because our waiter was friendly and we were satisfied with him for the most part and didn't want him to be singled out when it was, in fact, every employee we had contact with that stunk like old stale cigarette smoke.
Bad experience! Poor quality food. Would not recommend the Italian Bistro of Center City!!. Had to wait at least 25 minutes for a table, even though we had made a reservation well in advance. The Hostesses were NOT seating customers in the order that they checked in. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger that was 1/3 of the size of the bun and hard as a rock! Not edible! Would not recommend the Italain Bistro!
Not at all happy with this establishment. I was embarrassed after taking my father in-law to this restaurant. The menu was thin with little variety and over loaded with pasta dishes. I ordered the lobster bisque and found it to taste like paprika and cream. Probably the worst bisque I have ever had I would had rather eaten a canned bisque. The other meals were average and not nearly worth the absorbanent prices.
Great Food, atmossphere, and service. I strongly recommed this restuarant. I recently took my best friend to celebrate her birthday and we had a good time. The food was wonderful and our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was conducive to taking your time eating and having good conversation. To my firend's suprise the staff came to our table and sang happy birthday to her. I will definitaly be coming back again for dinner.
Very disappointed. I went to the Italian Bistro with a friend, and was very disappointed with the food and service. We ordered calamari for an appetizer, which was way overcooked, and pasta for our entree which was terrible. After not touching our entrees, the waiter did not even ask us if we wanted it packed or if we even like it. I dont understand why people like this restaurant. There are so many great italian restaurants in Philadelphia, this not bein one.
A family-friendly Italian restaurant with back-to-basics sensibilities..
In Short
Not to be outdone by the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood, the decor of this Broad Street bistro's decor consists of bright hues, twinkling lights and old-school upholstery. Add the fully stocked bar at the main room's buzzing space, and you have another family-friendly chain Italian restaurant that focuses on fun and amazing service as well as their food. The menu features all manner of pasta, pizza and meat entrees.
This is a great place to dine before a s. We went for dinner before a show at the Academy of Music and we were very impressed. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff is so friendly and on the ball. Not to mention that food is very good and reasonably priced. We will definitely dine there again! But definitely make reservations, we had a bit of a wait for a seat.
great food reasonable prices. the food was great, priced reasonable and the service was quick enough to get a nice meal before seeing a show.
