In Short – Pierre's brings a bright bit of old-fashioned fun to artsy Old City. The two-floor costume shop has clothed Philadelphia theater companies for decades. Now, Pierre's boasts more than a million "pieces" of rentable outfits, including giant chicken heads, astronaut suits, beauty-queen gowns and more house-made outfits from almost every time period in history. Rental prices range between $55 and $125 and require a deposit. Stage makeup and costumes can also be purchased.

Great selection, nice staff

The staff really care. You can tell that they like working there since they are so upbeat and willing to help. The costumes are seriously nice, and are custom tailored to you. It was like playing dress-up. We rented two really nice quality costumes and bought some accessories to go with them. Next time I need a costume, I will be back.

They are awesome

I went there to find costumes for a Victorian themed wedding me and my wife had to go to, and it was a great experience from the moment we stepped in the shop. I admit I didn't have any idea what to expect, but the staff member we worked with was very helpful so our costumes were unique and very stylish. I'm definitely going there for Halloween next year.

A life saver for Backstage Moms!

I was in recently for make-up purchases for a high school theater show that I was helping out on; my son is in the show and I'm helping with the make-up and costumes. The staff was very nice and helpful and they helped me to figure out what would work best for the show, (we have 40 kids in the show). We are doing standard stage makeup with some 3D effects and stage-blood. The place was huge and they seemed to know where everything was and were very quick about finding things. The staff also seemed to really care about the shop which was very clean and inviting. They were actually cleaning as I was in and changing their displays and obviously having fun! It must be the best place on earth to work!! I will be back again and not just for my son's school plays!
- Pros: Knowledgable staff, great selection, awesome prices, clean!
- Cons: too much to choose from!
