Another Vietnamese restaurant in South Philly?! Yep, but Mekong River comes from trusted owners (Wing Phat Plaza's Viet Huong) and has upped the pretty factor in comparison to that deliberately spartan pho parlor. A light and bright space featuring multiple rooms, Mekong is in no way reinventing Ho Chi Minh's wheel — soups, vermicelli noodles, broken rice and pan-fried noodles make up the massive menu — but its Front Street digs provide the relatively light-on-Asian Pennsport 'hood some much-needed Viet mealage.
