Tips for Spice Kitchen

5.0
April 27, 2011

Best Indian Food I've Ever Had. In the last 2 months, my wife and I have been to Spice Kitchen 7 times. We initially just had a craving for Indian food, and Spice Kitchen was close by. Obviously we loved it otherwise we wouldn't be coming back every week.

1.Food-

I'm in no way a connoisseur of Indian cuisine, but Spice Cuisine is the best I've had so far. I've tried 5 different items from the chicken menu (korma, chettinadu, and the other 2 I can't spell) The best though is chicken jalfarezi. I get that alot. They serve really good light rice and I always leave full. We usually order garlic naan too, which is also amazing. We've only tried the mix pakora appetizer, but it's so good, we've been getting it every time.

2.Service-

We've been greeted warmly each time we go and we've had the same waiter for the most part. Overall, the staff is on the ball. They check on you just enough and they give GOOD recommendations. My glass has never been empty for more than 1 minute. They are also great at describing the menu items, as pretty much all of the food is new to me. We felt like regulars by the 3rd visit.

3.Price-

Most of the main dishes range from $11-$15 which is pretty common. I think the prices are especially great considering they use mostly fresh ingredients. The herbs are always very fresh, as they should be. We can go once a week and it doesn't hurt the pockets.

4.Presentation-

The place has a nice calm feel to it. Music is nice but not too loud. Sometimes, I feel it would be better if the lights were dimmer, but that's just me. The food is brought out on a cart which is different. Best part; everything is served in antique-looking silverware. The main course comes out in a big silver bowl. I've never seen that before and it's a very nice touch.

Overall, we love this place and plan on making it a weekly tradition. Don't be afraid to try new things. The menu is big enough to find something you'll like.
