Citysearch Editorial Review. It’s called The American Pub; it serves only apps, sandwiches, burgers and salads; and it’s located on the concourse level of an office tower. Knowing just this, get a mental picture in your head. If you envisioned a square room with unadorned wooden high-tops and dinner tables set up for easy accommodation of groups, black-and-white floor tile a la Bennigan’s circa 1989, a large wooden U-shaped bar, and old-timey American flags and baseball scenes hung behind glass frames, you’d be right. Though it’s not a chain, it wouldn’t be surprised if you mistook it for one, although broadcasting Fox News Channel on all eight TVs is probably not a risk most service-based conglomerates would be willing to take. A prime Center City lease, happy hour specials that change daily, an early closing time and a rash of TVs that tune to sports when FNC isn’t on make this a brainless bet for hashing over the day with a co-worker or bidding so-long to a secretary when everyone’s too lazy to leave the building.
