The Worst!

by Psimon at Citysearch

Do not rent with this company! Maxwell Realty is the worst rental agency I have ever used in my many years of renting. We moved out after 2 years of renting because the owner of the house wanted to move back in. We left by midnight, and at 7am the next day the owner was inside the house ripping up the floors and completely remodeling everything. Maxwell didn't even bother to check out the property beforehand for any damages. We left it in great condition, but seeing as it was our word against the owner (who conveniently was a lawyer) we got screwed out of our $2,000 deposit. We had to pay to remodel the owner’s house! We complained to Maxwell in a very formal and civil manner. They said it was out of their hands and we would have to take it up with owner but to "be careful, because he's a lawyer." What an unprofessional way to handle any issue. Maxwell wiped their hands of this situation and refused to help or hear us through. We lost a lot of money due to Christine’s and the rest of the office's negligence and terrible business practices. Run! It is not worth dealing with the hassle that will come a long with your renting, no matter how nice the home.

Terribly Irresponsible

by wrlwrlwrl at Citysearch

We received a notification on our door that if our water bill was not paid our water would be shut off. Maxwell was responsible for paying that bill, not the tenants.

We notified Maxwell via phone, voice mail, and email numerous times over the course of a month and a half and they assured us that 'your water won't get shut off.' Low and behold it shut off and now there are 5 people living in a house with no water despite over a month of advance notice.

These people are irresponsible liars, do not trust them to rent from.

selling our home

by delanos at Citysearch

we had what we were told was a challenging home in centercity

philadelphia to sell. Our home had been on the market for 12 months, with 3 other companies in town. A work friend referred Maxwell Realty Company to us, and literally within 5 days our home was sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still can't stop talking about the speed of which this finally happened, and the fact that 3 qualified buyers came through in 4 days to our home

We cant say enough super things about MAxwell Realty Company, and how much Nancy did for us, her sense of knowing exactly what she is doing is evident

  • Pros: when 3 other agents couldnt sell our home Nancy Alperin did
  • Cons: zip

my new oldcity condo

by zsmithly at Citysearch

i am an doc in town, and was renting an apt through maxwell realty management

when it came time to renew my lease i also got a flyer showing me for about the same dollars a mo i could buy, and have a tax savings at yearend.

all sounded too good to be true and way to time consuming, but the mailer made me curious.

i met with nancy alperin for 40 minutes, was shown what it would cost me monthly and what i would need to put down to purchase

it made sense to me

the next weekend i had free, we went out , looked at 5 condos, i saw one that was just put on the market, put in a bid, and got my bid accepeted

i spent all of 4 hours on this process and an hour and a half to close. i enjoy my new condo, and am verry glad i took those initial 40 min to sit down with nancy

  • Pros: easy easy to do, no learning curve, greatest broker
  • Cons: zip

Amazing buying experience

by vickycohen at Citysearch

i was a first time home buyer, and was scared to part with all my savings

When i met with MS. Alperin, and before we even went out the door she went over with me what i would need to close, and even showded me how i could put down as little as thee percent

I was shown 11 houses, fell in luv with one of them, put in a offer, and Ms. Alperin got my offer accepted

33 days later, im in my new home in queenvillage, a homeowner, and still have money in my pocket to spend for furniture!!!!!!!!!

  • Pros: only took 33 days from start to finish
  • Cons: wish i could afford to do this again!
