Great burritos and cheap drinks. Not quite a dive bar but not upscale, this place is amazing. I've had the same waiter every time I've gone and he's attentive, prompt, and all around awesome. The burritos are good, price in the $8-10 range but HUGE. Drinks are pretty cheap as well. Definitely give it a try!

large beer selection, awesome guacamole. friendly owners (one of which plays in an 80s cover band that occasionally plays upstairs) great chips and salsa and guac, and large selection of expensive beers (i usually stick to the $3 PBRs) 2 levels each with a bar, great place for a beer and tacos or nachos.

Great food - even better service. Went here for a friend's birthday with a big group. The staff was more than accommodating for our large group without a reservation. The beer selection is extensive and the food is delicious. Would definitely come again!

Saving Money. Best thing is the same beers are here that Monk's has but they are $2 cheaper. The food is like Taco Bell which is fine after a few beers.

Bi-level Center City Mexican joint pairs traditional food with untraditional beer.. In Short
Jose Pistola's is a sign that Philly's craft beer scene is maturing. The place acts like a beer bar with its bounty selection of Belgium and local beer, and looks like it too with its eclectically diverse clientele. However, the grub is more serious than at a bar and more hearty than a gastropub. Enchiladas, tacos and burritos set the heavy platter here, and taste unconventionally better with a jug of beer.

Stepped-up versions of popular favorites like tacos, quesadillas, nacho platters and burritos, are joined by a handful alternative options such as Vegan Chili and Mexi Mussles--sautéed with chorizo an served with a small salad. Prices are downright low, so come hungry and order up. There's a mad focus on beer here. For those who want cheap suds in the ilk of domestic swill or world-class options (Saison Dupont, La Fin du Monde, Franziskaner Heffe Weisse) belly up together in this refreshingly laid back Center City watering hole.
