The brewery was only founded in 1985, but that’s enough to make it one of the first microbreweries—and its firehouse home was built in 1903.

Pass on the greasy pizza & guzzle down their wonderful beers. Best brewpub in West Philly?
Dock Street is a great spot for gourmet pizza and craft beer in West Philly. I don't know of another place that offers fig pizza and pitchers of awesome beer brewed on the premises!
One of Philadelphia's premiere brewpubs has reemerged in an old-world firehouse in University City and neighbors and students say cheers..
In Short
The former 50th Street Farmer's Market finds new life yet again, this time as a venerable brewpub with deep Philly roots brought back by its original owners. A casual menu pivots on a broad array of pizzas including barbeque chicken and a vegan option. Apple-smoked calzones, tuna melts, and beer battered fish and chips are all popular favorites. But the emphasis is on the beer with rotating taps of seasonal varieties, giving westsiders a convenient option on University City's outer boundaries.
