Bruce is an amazing stylist, both me and my fiance go to him. As a male I was concerned because Bruce primarily focuses on color and female styles, after my first cut I was put at ease. He does an amazing job and I have never had a haircut like his in my life. He made my hair work for me instead of me trying to make it look like something it is not. I would recommend him to anyone. As for blonde color he is the man, I remember the first time I saw my fiance after Bruce did her hair and I was amazed, I couldn't believe it could look that way. From color to cuts Bruce is the best and I will follow him anywhere.

Bruce is a miracle worker! I found Bruce in September when I needed extreme corrective color for my blonde hair. My hair was bleached out and felt like straw; I thought it was beyond repair. I did some research and saw that Bruce specialized in corrective color for blondes and was even voted Philly's top colorist. The first time I went to see him he kept me in his chair for 6 hours meticulously fixing my hair. When I looked in the mirror that day I couldn't believe how he had corrected my color! Not only was my hair back to its normal blonde, it had never looked better. Bruce takes his time with clients and uses pictures to really get an idea of how a person perceives herself and wants to look like. Not only did he correct my hair that day, he has continued to make my hair stronger and healthier every time I visit him. I've followed Bruce to two salons and will continue to be a client; I've never found someone who's not only a genius with color AND cuts, but really loves what he does and cares about his clients. Everyone asks who does my hair and I'm proud to recommend Bruce to anyone!!

When I first moved to Philadelphia last summer, I was concerned about finding the right colorist because I am so picky about my blonde hair. I figured it would take several tries before finding the right person. Did I ever luck out when I made an appointment with Bruce Slemmer! His work is terrific and he gives a fabulous cut. Not only that - he's a really nice guy. I also like the salon setting of Siojo - very comfortable and friendly. Easy parking. YAY

I first went to Bruce in 2001 when he was in Newtown and absolutely fell in love with him! He did wonders with my hair - beautiful blonde highlights and a great cut. When he left Newtown, I followed him into the city to the next two salons. I finally stopped going to Bruce because of the owner of the salon he was at. However, this past spring, I decided I really needed to find Bruce again and I did - here at Beans. I was not disappointed - he was the same wonderful Bruce - maybe even better!!! My hair looks fantastic! Unfortunately, I retired to SC at the end of Sept. and I am going to really miss Bruce. Thank heavens my son and his fiance (who I introduced to Bruce and she loves him too!) live in Philly and are getting married in March, so I will be back to have my hair done by him again - I can't wait!!!!!

Bruce is fantastic and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for fabulous hair! What impresses me the most about Bruce is how meticulous he is. At my first appointment, Bruce spent a significant amount of time getting to know me and what I was looking for in a hair style.Since then, it doesn't matter if he is cutting, coloring, or doing a Keratin treatment, Bruce is extremely thorough and I never leave the salon without being completely amazed! I have long chestnut brown hair and when I came to Bruce my ends were dead, my cut lacked style and my color was brassy. Bruce has my hair back in excellent condition and I love the color and the cut. I have been going to Bruce for about 6 months now and I completely trust him to do whatever he wants with my hair. He vision is amazing and I am so happy that I found him!

Bruce is absolutely the very best, not only in coloring, but also the very best in cutting and styling! As a true blonde in my youth, I thought those days of having shiny, sexy, healthy blonde hair were over. Not so!! This 57 year old was getting double and triple processing which was destroying the texture and health of my hair. Bruce turned this around. His magic touch with color has my hair so healthy now, and the movement and bounce with his cut is amazing. My husband loves him and has never met him. Everyone believes I look so much younger since I have been his customer for almost a year now. Living in the suburbs, the drive into the city with traffic and parking, had been a concern; but certainly not enough to keep me from coming. Thank you Bruce, you're worth it!

I struggled for years with Brass, no one could ever help/ correct my hair!!! Bruce is the first person in 14 years of highlighting my natural DARK brown hair that can get it to that ash white blonde. No brass, no orange! I know every natural dark haired person has this trouble. You'd be crazy to go to anyone else! He listens to what you want and knows everyone's hair is different. On top of it all, he's awesome to talk to :) If you are looking for beautiful blonde hair or highlights...Bruce Slemmer at Beans Beauty. :)))

Bruce is the best! Seriously..no joke! His talent with color and cuts, his honesty..beyond anyone I've ever let touch my hair. I trust him. No higher compliment can I give. He never over "trims" my hair like so many have before. That is just one of so many reasons I've not been tempted to let anyone touch my hair since finding him. 6 years and still in love with what Bruce does for me! I drive well over an hour to see him now that I don't live in Philly but his results are soo worth the trip!

AWESOME COLORIST!!!!!. Bruce is an amazingly talented and absolutely awesome colorist!! He is truly passionate about what he does.Bruce goes above and beyond. He has completely transformed my hair.Bruce gave me the most beautiful blonde highlights. My hair feels so incredibly soft and shiny. He really cares about the health of your hair.I have never been so happy with my hair. He is also an awesome person! Bruce works magic!! you will NOT be disappointed!!!

An artist is an artist.... So I am one of those loyal clients who paid top dollar in a top of the line salon who's name ( of which I will not mention) was just cool to say. I really wanted to love my color and didn't really want to give up on the colorist I used for a very long time of whom I needed to book with 8 weeks in advance as if my own schedule isn't busy enough! The problem was my hair color wasn't great anymore and I knew it. I stopped hearing the usual compliments and started seeing the inconsistency and missed spots. After giving my colorists the benefit of the doubt... THREE TIMES I said done which brings me to Bruce Slemmer at Beans Beauty on Chestnut. After a lengthy consultation which was impressive all by itself I decided to give him a shot. People raved about his mad genius approach although still skeptical I let the artist do his thing. All I can say is that after 4 hours of corrective color and 100 or so foils later I am not happy but estatic with my color. He is a true blond colorist guru who loves what he does who made me feel like i was his only client. Mad genius? I LOVE him!!!! He is the sweetest and proud to say my new colorist!
