Pros: -free wireless -huge windows that look out onto the Naval Home (really beautiful in the nice months) -friendly staff Cons -truly awful decor -pricey beer (particularly for the location)

You can tell that there is heart and soul involved in this bar. I read their website before I went and it appealed to me that this was a bar as far back as the 1940s and that three guys from the neighborhood got together to revive it and deliver to their community. I like the beer best, I think its a great selection. I'm Irish myself and I found a few touches of home on the menu, but with a "new world" twist that will appeal to a wide audience. I went in the evening and the mix of patrons was comfortable - young and middle aged enjoying themselves. I understand that it is a family friendly spot for brunch etc. though which is an asset in the up and coming Gray's Ferry neighborhood. I'd recommend stopping by and keeping the tradition going..
