Thank you isn’t enough:

I want to take this opportunity to both thank Sharon, and to let as many people know what a wonderful Oriental Medicine practitioner Sharon is. I began being treated by Sharon in September of 2011 for a 15 year problem. I had utilized Western Medicine in the past with minimal and temporary results. After a few months in Sharon’s care that long standing problem is just an unpleasant memory. I enjoy going for treatment as Sharon takes the time to listen to me, and I truly feel that I am understood . The other amazing thing is that along the course of treatments my other physical problems have improved as well! My energy level has never been better, and I no longer catch every cold and flu I am exposed to. Most days I feel like “Super woman”.

I have been a client of Sharon's for over 8 years. I am forever indebted to Sharon for her invaluable help and support over the years. She has not only helped me to improve my physical health immeasurably (with specific health issues), she has also helped me to keep my body in balance (despite the fact that I seem to constantly work to push it out of balance with my busy lifestyle and "go go go" attitude...). Sharon does not rest until she has the answers that she is looking for and takes it upon herself to constantly expand her knowledge base in order to best serve the needs of her patients. This has clearly shown itself in the treatment plans that she has established for me over the years. Her innate caring and concern however has not stopped there. Sharon always provided a listening ear whenever I arrive for an appointment and has also provided the perfect resources for whatever I might possibly need outside of her office (ie. a massages therapist, physical therapist, and yoga instructor, just to name a few...). Sharon consistently goes above and beyond to provide the highest level of support for her clients and I cannot recommend her services highly enough. She is truly the best!

If you need acupuncture and herbal treatment, go see Sharon!

I met a woman (then 3 months pregnant) who was speaking of her journey towards motherhood. She had tried for some years to conceive, but with no luck b/c her cycle was very irregular and never knew when she was ovulating. She had tried a lot: diets, lifestyle changes, etc, and had seen several healers. When she moved to the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, she heard about Sharon and began to see her. Within two months of treatments and taking herbs, her cycles were regular and she and her husband were able to conceive. When I heard her story, and the confidence with which she spoke about Sharon, I knew I had to see her. I had been battling with chronic diarrhea, which the western docs (who after many months of trying alternative therapies, herbs, taking parasite tests, etc. I finally decided to visit) had dubbed 'IBS', for more than a year. It was ruling my life, draining my energy, and leaving me feeling pretty miserable. I knew the western doc's diagnosis was I "BS" alright...I just wasn't sure what to do about it (IBS, by the way, is thought to be 'incurable'...not an illness, just a situation. anyone out there suffering, PLEASE consider eastern medicine for treatment). After the first treatment with Sharon, I felt complete confidence in her. Her down to earth nature felt really good to me (in fact, she can be quite the comedian sometimes, which I totally appreciate. she's not airy-fairy in the least!:). She, upon just looking at me and asking a few questions, had a good idea of what was at the root of the issue. After feeling my pulses and giving treatment, she realized that the issue was a bit more complicated than the textbook case for the situation at hand. For the last two months, she has been working the complexity of the body's issues like a work of art. She seems to be a master of herbs...(well, she has a master's in herbs after all;), constantly 'tweaking' my dosage based on her intuition and knowledge, and my feedback. In just two months, my symptoms are SO much better and nearly gone. AND, perhaps more importantly, the underlying cause of this dis-ease, which is stress, is so much less a part of my life. Through the power of treatment with Sharon, as well as the power of herbs, I have had a clearer vision of the mind's stress response in a whole new way. I have been able to feel more consistently peaceful and to make changes and decisions which support a more peaceful existence; to know what best serves me and my health, and to act in accordance with that. SO, I am extremely grateful to Sharon for her help, and highly encourage anyone to go see this amazing woman and gift to our community :)

Sharon is Amazing - Highly and Truly Recommended.

I feel like a new person after going to see Sharon Sherman last February for some "female problems." After only two-three sessions, I was on the road to full recovery and have been feeling great ever since. I've also gone to see Sharon for some minor shoulder pain and a really bad cold; she treated both ailments compassionately and effectively. Although I have joked around with friends that Sharon has magical abilities the truth is that she is extremely well-trained, committed to providing high quality care, and very thorough (not to mention she has an appealingly quirky sense of humor). I agree with the reviewer who wrote that s/he was "in good hands with her as my practitioner" because I feel the same way. Sharon really knows what she is doing and is extremely professional. While I certainly believe that allopathic medicine has its place and importance, Sharon treated my problems more effectively than did the mainstream doctors I visited. She explained to me that that TCM addresses the causes or root of the problem rather than the symptoms and that when she treats the root, the symptoms too will diminish or go away. This seems to have been the case with my issues. One must be a bit patient and willing to commit to the treatment (reasonably priced and worth every penny), but based on my own experiences, if you do, you will be amazed.

A great place for acupuncture

Sharon Sherman, who runs Empirical Point Acupuncture, is a professional and a joy to visit.

She has two offices--one in Chestnut Hill and another in Center City.

It took me a long time to consider acupuncture--a mistake on my part. I have arthritis in both knees and my left shoulder. I am too young for replacements, and traditional treatment did not relieve the pain.

After a treatment at Empirical Point there is a jump--well, maybe a slight jump--in my step and greater flexibility in my shoulder. I also have natural treatments that have helped me along the way. I could not recommend Sharon and Empirical Point more highly!
