Wouldn't even give them 1 star.. Absolutely terrible experience. For the past 4 days my dog has been severely ill after a 4 night stay at Best Friends in Willow Grove, PA.

(1) It appears they didn't follow feeding instructions - since 30% of his food remained when I picked him up yet his report card said he "cleaned his plate". And the amount I initially provided them was the EXACT amount it should have required for the duration of his stay.

(2) The report card stated "normal eliminations" yet when I called to ask if they fed him anything different than the food I gave him because once I brought him home he had severe diarrhea,after 5-7 minutes on hold, they came back and stated he had diarrhea when I dropped him off, and that he was fed exactly as I had instructed.

If the above statements are true, then why was there a large amount of food left over, and why did the report card state "clean plate club" and "normal eliminations"? It also seems rather convenient for them to state that when I dropped him off he had diarrhea, which apparently miraculously dissapeared during the duration of his stay, only to reappear the second I got home?! Their story just doesn't add up.

Since he's been home he has not been able to keep food down, and has had severe diarrhea. Not once have they even called to see how he was doing. Now I've spent close to $400 between taking him to the emergency vet and renting a carpet cleaner for the weekend, and we still don't know whats wrong with him. I'm sending him to my regular vet tomorrow.

I would NEVER let him stay at this horrendous facility again.

Hidden Charges!. I am writing to express my EXTREME disappointment with my recent visit to this location. My dog has stayed with Best Friends before, and I have always had a great experience. That being said, I was unaware of the (new?) charges for "Arrival and Departure Day Play", even though I booked the "Play and Stay Group". What exactly does that additional charge cover? The staff was unable to provide an answer. Since I was NOT informed of this service prior to pick up, you can imagine my surprise to see the bill. For my dog to "play and stay" for EXACTLY 24 hours, it cost me $97. This, frankly, is downright ridiculous. If I was to travel just an additional 5 miles, my dog could participate in group play and boarding at an equally reputable establishment for only $40. Which is exactly what I intend to do in the future. I saw ABSOLUTELY no additional benefit to pay over DOUBLE the price of other boarding facilities. I hope for the sake of your other customers, these charges be clearly explained prior to pick up, so that they are not as aggravated and insulted as I am.

Uneducated staff. Brand new building and fancy interior BUT staff has no knowledge of dogs.

Very scary place to leave a dog.

Best Friends is Best in our book!. Best friends of Willow Grove is a wonderful facility where your dog or cat will receive loving attention in very nice surroundings. You can tell the staff truly loves the pets in their care. My pekingese Lilly and I have been made to feel like part of the family and she is always so excited to attend day camp. And when boarding overnight, I know she feels comfortable and at home. A great place!

Best in Boarding. A large variety of options for any dog or cat. Offering boarding, luxury boarding, grooming, doggy day camp, training, and even have an indoor dog park club. The facility is large, very clean and safe.
