Best Salon in town. I've been getting my hair done by Nikki for a little over 2yrs and have never been disappointed! Nikki's expertise allows me to put my full confidence in her to do whatever she wants to my hair! The entire staff is very accommodating and they make you feel almost as if you were at home. As long as Nikki is doing hair, I will be her loyal client!

YAY! AUDREY!. I'm very skiddish about getting my haircut by new people. but she came highly recommended and im so glad i went! i've been using her for the last year and i'll never go to anyone else.

Nikki = Best Colorist!. Nikki is the best colorist I've ever had!

It takes someone who really, really knows what they're doing to get my hair in check, and Nikki just nails it every time! My hair color always comes out looking so rich and dimensional.

(My hair is naturally blonde and thin, so I like to get some lowlights put in for depth, and I've had some really bad, traumatizing experiences with so-called "colorists" in Philadelphia)

She has the experience and the knowledge to know whats going to look good on you, and given the fact that she's a young woman like me, she knows what's "hot" and what's "not"!

Best blou outs in the city. "I have super super curly hair that I like to wear straight. Most hairdressers have trouble blouing it out si it looks silky smooth, but Nikki does it everytime. No trouble, no complaints, a great smooth blou out that's hassle free and doesn't take long. She's really very talented not only with curly hair but gives awesome awesome scalp massages!"

Best Blow-Out in the CIty. If you have curly or unruly hair, this is the ONLY place in the city to get it blown-out straight.

1. I have very very curly hair. When Nikki blow-dries it straight, it is silky smooth and looks better than when anyone else does it. It feels good. Nikki is also one of the few stylists who've met my hair without anxst. No stress, no problems, just an easy blow-out that she does not complain or struggle with. Is my hair easy? No way.. but Nikki makes me feel like it is.

2. Scalp massage to die for: When nikki conditions your hair.. you get an amazing scalp massage. She should charge extra for this! I'll be in the middle of updating her with my life, but the minute her fingers start their magic.. I'm silenced. It's just tooooo amazing.

3. Conversation: Want a salon where you feel comfortable and everyone remembers you and you remember them? This is the place. Not only is my stylist friendly, but they are all friendly. Alex is also very pleasant.

4. SMALL and comfortable: This is a salon that feels like home. You have to experience it to know what I'm talking about. I bring my two year old son, and he dances around while I get my hair done and no one gets annoyed. He knows everyone by name, and they love having him. I can't think of another salon where a little child wouldn't be thought of as "annoying." They also let me bring my little dog who sits on my lap.

Overall, I'd rate the experience as an A+. And, you don't know me, but this is coming from a very very discriminating and particular hair person. I've had nothing but heartache over straightening my curly head of dry hair.... but they've made the pain go away, and I know if I ever leave town I'll never find another experience like this.

Impressive Salon Experience!. I made an appointment with this salon on Thursday after watching a channel 6 newscast. The newscast was about something unrelated to hair, but I noticed that the person that was being interviewed was cutting hair. I was looking for someone to give me a professional hair cut. So on a whim, I contacted the salon and made an appointment for Jamar (person being interviewed on ActionNews). On the news, Jamar exuded a level of confidence that I expect a stylist to have. Friday, I arrived for my appointment as scheduled and Jamar was there waiting for me with a a friendly smile and ready to go. I'm the type of person that is critical about my hair and customer service. For the first time ever, Jamar cut my hair while wet. At first I was very nervous, but I decided to go with the flow. I kept my comments to myself until he was totally finished. When he was done, I was thoroughly impressed. During my visit, the owner, Nikki arrived as well as the other stylist. They were all friendly and made you feel very welcome. I thanked Jamar and left feeling elated. I went over to the Whole Foods Market across the street and didn't realize that I left my hat that I wore into the salon. All of a sudden Jamar appeared with my hat in hand. My response was, "Oh you could have burned that". Throughout my day I was stopped by several people (more than 8) of all races who complimented my hair. I was glad that I grabbed a few business cards to give to them. I even gave up my own l card knowing that I will see Jamar again next week. This salon defintely exceeded my expectations and you will be pleased with the results. They are experience in all types of hair, which is refreshing. Jamar is a kind, talented young man that you will enjoy speaking with as well. Make an appointment with Jamar and see for your self. I'm very pleased with the results and so is my husband. First rate service, style and people. Owners Nikki and Alex are welcoming and accommodating. Whether I bring my children for haircuts or have them accompany me, Nikki and Alex are flexible. Besides the excellent hair styling, I love Studio Teknik because I'm never double booked; therefore, I know I will be in and out within 2 hours for a cut and color. This salon offers superior work in a cozy environment.

Great Place to Relax and get hair cut. I live on 1 block away, bring my kids and now my wife is a customer. Nikki is great, the atmosphere is relaxing and the place looks fantastic.

Without a doubt, this challenges any other salon in the city in terms of service and quality.

Friendly place, sharing of laughter, relaxing and walk out looking beautiful.. I have known Nikki (owner of Studio Teknik) for about 7 years and we met because I was referred to her to fix my hair after a different salon messed my hair up. I have always know her to aspire to be the best and provide the best for her customers. I have always received top notch service from her and have observed that she treats every client with the utmost care. She did my updo for my wedding and my hair was picture perfect all day. She is the best at being able to decide what color would flatter a client's features. My husband and I only get our hair done by Nikki. My mom loves the way Nikki cuts and styles to make her feel young. I refer everyone I meet to her and am excited to talk about her salon located in a nice area of South Street. I have had my hair long all my life, but recently I allowed Nikki to cut it for a donation to locks of love. I wouldn't have ever let anyone else do this. She did it with patience and care. I loved the way it came out and so did everyone else (even strangers). You should really see what you're missing and go to this salon!

best haircut in the city!!. Easily the best haircut in the city. I come all the way from New York just to have Nikki cut my hair. She washes, cuts, and styles with complete professionalism and personal attention. I always get complemented about the cut afterwards. I strongly recommend her!!
