Tips for Canine Creature Comforts

November 09, 2012

I did not use this place once I visited it and the dogs had to go inside. It does not take a dog trainer to know it would only be a mattter of time that they went in our house. But really spoke to me that this place was dishonest was I did a google search for another facility in the area and a link comes up with the title of the other facility but the URL takes you to Canine Creature. It is my feeling if they are dishonest trying to get my business they will not be honest about the care given to my pet. They are great facilities very close to this one. Go there.

There are so many better places very close. I'd give this place negative stars if I could. Know before you go there (because they won't tell you on their own) all dogs are forced to relieve themselves inside. After we found out we were told that it wouldn't cause any problem. Well it did, and our dog started going in our home. Once we took her out of that place, she stopped.

They also have a video cam where you can watch your dog during the day. That was a huge plus for us. As it turns out we watched our 90 pound dog walk in circles for 6 hours a day in a tiny room and was crated the other 2. When we first met the owner she told us directly that the dogs would be outside for an hour in the morning, and an hour in the afternoon. After 5 visits we finally asked her why our dog wasn't being let out and her was "Outside time is determined based on the weather". Not only was that in complete contrast to her initial response, but our dog only went there two days a week and we made sure to take her on days where the weather was nice since we thought she'd be outside.

The staff is very nice but the owner is horribly rude and inconsiderate. We bought a 20 day package at first. Once our dog started going in our home, we consulted our vet and she told us to remove the dog from that daycare stating that forcing a dog to relive themselves inside is going against everything they are taught. When we told the owner that we weren't happy with her facility and that we simply wanted a refund for the 15 days we didn't use, she was rude and insulting and said the policy was not to refund money for pre-purchased days. Note: there is no mention of her no refund policy anywhere in the contract we signed or on her website. It took us threatening legal action and her calling my vet before she finally gave it back to us. I have had many bad experiences in many different places, but this was the first time I felt so compelled to write a review. I know I wish I had known about these things before I brought my dog there. Keep looking, there is another fabulous place very close where the dogs are outside all day getting fresh air and are not forced to relieve themselves inside.

Best Training Facility!. We've had all of our dogs trained here. Not only do they teach great obedience classes, but they helped us with our scared girl who was afraid of everything. Now she is much more social and outgoing! I don't know what we would have done without them. PS>the new pool is fantastic too!!

Review are helpful from actual customers!. Poor reviews are hard to take seriously from people who have never actually used our service.

Indoors Sucks. Tried this place. I guess they are doing the best they can with only indoor areas. My dog likes to play outside.

My dog was not happy.

not a good place. Was not what we wanted it to be. We use to use Molly's Run but since we moved we havenot been able to find a place just like it. Dogs are meant to be outside playing. This place is not outside. Our dog did not come home happy.

Best Canine Play Park & Staff In The Area. I've been taking my 7 month old Collie mix to the indoor play park on Saturdays for almost 4 months now. Initially she was in with the small dogs as she was only 12 weeks old. It was a great starting point for a puppy this age. Nikki had been the shy-est pup in the litter and would shake any time I took her someplace new. On walks she would try to scamper off behind the closest tree she could find whenever a person, car or other animal would pass by. This is why we wanted to socialize her early on. At Canine Creature Comforts, Nikki was exposed to meeting and socializing with new people and other dogs. This helped her fear of entering new places a great deal. After only a few weeks of attending the play park, we found her to be less stressed and afraid of new situations she encountered. She was more confident on her walks, and did not shy away from strangers and other dogs like she did when we first brought her home. After a few weeks playing in the small dog park, Nikki moved on to the large breeds and although she is one of the smaller ones in the big dog park....she still plays confidently and has a great time with dogs of all sizes now.

What sets this dog park aside from others is: 1) It's indoors--so weather is not a factor. 2) The staff makes sure all dogs are up to date on shots to prevent illness from spreading. 3) The play area is staffed and any aggressive behavior is corrected immediately. The dogs LEARN how to play with each other in a safe manner.

We liked the play park so much for Nikki that we also enrolled her in the puppy training and now the more advanced obedience training. That is working out real well too. This is a fantastic place for training, play park, boarding etc. I look forward to Play Park Saturdays as much as Nikki does.

Definite destination for people who love their dogs!. Top notch service-the owners and staff are really friendly and welcoming-the facility fantastic! We started coming here over a year ago for training for issues our dog picked up at another Doggie Day Care. Not only does our dog behave perfectly now we are so excited to know he is having a blast with his doggie friends during the day while being supervised by knowledgable and caring staff. After going to Day Care for a year, taking two training classes, and attending many fun social events here Canine Creature Comforts is the best thing to ever happen to my dog.
