Excellent service!!!. Came in late, for graduation at Univ of Penn; was extremely hurried; the staff bent over backwards to help and were extremely pleasant and helpful. Suggested various locations for gifts,,the bed was the best! The shower was great,, was so busy no time to even turn on TV, but so easy to hook up my computer, The breakfast was great buffet was so good and the fresh baked pastries were umm ummm good! Unfortunately only time for one night but will definetly return!

Wonderful Stay. I stayed here recenty for a 1 night stay and had a great experience with my boyfriend. The room and it's amenties were super nice. The bathroom was amazing, I just wish I had bought bubble bath. We had cocktails at the lounge and it was a chill atmosphere. We had also ordered late night room service and had the Philly Lunchbox, it came with a pint of Ben & Jerrys, it was a sweet surprise..we were expecting just a few scoops. OH and love the big flat screen TV! They held our bags as we checked out and toured the city and the valet guys offered my boyfriend coffee too when he overheard him saying he needed a cup as well. Great experience and very pleased.

Overpriced small servings, Pretty but boring atmosphere. I chose Chez Colette because the reviews were good, it sounded pretty, and it was close to the Academy of Music, where I was going to a show. I was concerned that it would be overpriced, that the serving sizes would be small, and that it might not be so fun to eat in a restaurant that has a reputation for being empty. Unfortunately, all that turned out to be true. The hours are actually not 6 am to 11 pm. We arrived at 4:45 for our 5 pm reservation, and there were no staff in the restaurant. When a host arrived, he told us the restaurant did not open until 5. We sat in the Sofitel Hotel lobby and had a drink, which was nice. The service in the lobby was very attentive and friendly, and the service in the restaurant itself was very friendly as well, although slow - we did not get out until 7 pm. The big problem was high prices for a very small amount of food. The food itself was excellent - we had stripped bass, filet mignon, and the crab cake, plus the mixed greens salad - - all really well prepared, very attractive. Just wasn't much of it. No one in my group minds paying high prices, but at Chez Collette, you really don't get your money's worth. The decoration of the restaurant is very pretty, but it's not "fin de siecle" style, not really. It's a fairly nice hotel restaurant, but very reminiscent of, well, a hotel, and it is empty of people, which causes a lack of festive feel. Not romantic, not much "atmosphere." One thing that was exceptional was that we were given complimentary desert and coffee, I think because we were sent to the hotel lobby to wait for the restaurant to open - this was very generous of them. I wouldn't go back, though, because of the high-priced small servings and the sort of boring atmosphere. I would suggest Brasserie Perrier on Walnut St. as a good alternative, or Vallani's on Pine St.

Stay Here, Sofitel Philly is Fantastic. My girlfriend and I (seemingly the opener for all of my Citysearch reviews...hmm) stayed here for a night a few weeks back during our weekend sojourn to Philadelphia. We're New Yorkers who wanted to do something different without having to travel far. We settled on Sofitel based on positive reviews both here and on other sites and I literally could not have been more impressed. The staff was delightful from moment one -- from check-in to valet to after-dinner drinks and dessert at Le Bourse. Even the most modest room was beautiful 5-star quality with a luxury bed and bathroom to match. I would literally like this bathroom in my own home, ok? If that wasn't enough, we checked out bags for 5 hours after checkout so that we could walk the city Sunday afternoon. While waiting for valet to bring us my car, the bellhop heard me make an off-hand comment about wanting coffee for the road and he said "would you like me to bring you and your girlfriend a cup?" He proceeded to go to the back halls and emerge with two cups of coffee with all the trimmings, just because he could. It's the little things.

Weekday Lunch. I had one of the best weekday lunches here a while ago. The service was excellent and the food was satisfying. Definetly try here if you're sick of Marathon or grabbing something in Liberty.

Beautiful Hotel!. I'm originally from the Philadelphia area, but was back in town for a wedding. Since my husband has never been to Philly, I was quite excited to make it a good experience and show him what an amazing city it can be. The Hotel Sofitel was the perfect choice. The room was gorgeous and spacious (we had a Superior King, I believe). The warm tones and wood accents really made it very welcoming and cozy. Even the bathroom was roomy with very charming touches. The bed was unbelievable, like laying down on a cloud. I think we may have to buy one of the feathertops as our bed at home now seems like a rock in comparison. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for better service. The location was excellent for exploring the city. It's very close to Rittenhouse Square and the Historic district/Society Hill/Penns Landing was a very quick cab ride away. It's also very convenient to some of the best restaurants in the city. Also, the bar was a nice place to unwind after a day of exploring. I highly recommend the Key Lime Martini. We would go back in a heartbeat and have already decided to look into staying at other Sofitel locations during our travels.

Lovely, just lovely. I took my boyfriend there back in february and he is still raving about it today. I had planned a weekend for us in Philly and in no way was I disappointed! We had gotten one of their king suites on one of the top floors and everything from the room to the service was wonderful. A plus was the amazing shower with plenty of room and there fab bar/restuarant! Believe me, if your looking for beauty and comfort at a reasonable price, this is it! Oh and their beds had to be sent from heaven itself. The beds are so comfortable that they offer an order catalog so that you can adorn your bed with their comfort. In fact, the bedding was so great, that when we got home, we ordered ALL the bedding for our bedroom and guestroom. This was truely an experience to remember

Hotel brasserie shows promise, but boasts few customers.. In Short
Old-time black-and-white photos and framed mirrors hint at Paris in the '20s. Mondrian-esque light panels overhead add a modern, abstract touch Music ranges from the jazz stylings of Dave Brubek to French chanteuse Edith Piaf. For the main course, select filet of beef with tangy, green peppercorn sauce or poached sea bass with succulent red bell pepper coulis. Finish with refreshing lemon or heavenly profiteroles stuffed with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

unbelievable hotel in downtown Philly. Stayed here Aug. 23rd '05 (midweek) in one of their suites (GET A SUITE; it's not much more expensive!!!!) and was impressed with everything...from check in to check out.

This place is charming, and it has great character. I selected it after reading all the great reviews on this site, and I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't even bother researching other 4-star hotels in Philly, there is no way any others are this good. Stay here, and if you aren't as impressed as I am, I will be SHOCKED.

A+.
