In Short – Prolific restaurateur Daniel Stern's second venture is quite a departure from his acclaimed and intimate Gayle. Rae is big, bright, pricey - and strangely feels like it's in an airport. But of course, if it were, it's first class all the way. Food is updated American classics with one of the most satisfying burgers in the city. What else would you expect from this Le Bec Fin alum? Additional favorites include meaty and memorable lamb and tasty horseradish tuna. Best of all, Westside office dwellers and 30th Street Station travelers have a cool new place to lunch.
Very Impressed
by phillygirl18
I was impressed with the space & the food & I look forward to going back during a non-University City Restaurant Week time to experience more of the menu. One disappointment was that the wine I requested was not available but other than that I thought everything was excellent. Our waiter seemed a bit hesitant or unsure of himself but otherwise he was on top of things; he was helpful in describing the entrees to us so we could make our choices. It's a beautiful space, very comfortable and I hope that next time I go we can sit deeper inside the restaurant past the bar so I can see what that area is like.
Brunch is back!
by rec3839
Rae will be starting Brunch again on September 28th and it will feature an expanded brunch buffet for $48 a person which includes free valet parking. Some of the buffet offerings will be a carving station with rotating items such as smoked ribeye, house made ham, grilled salmon, a crepe and pastry station, smoked salmon and raw bar, American sushi, omelettes , the Rae Benedict, home made pastrami hash and eggs, bloody mary hash and their famous french toast. Yum!
Letter to Dan Stern

Dear Dan,
It is difficult to express in words how meaningful our dinner was Monday night at Rae. To say it was the most incredible culinary experience of my life and of Cathy?s barely scratches the surface.
From the moment you greeted us at the table until we got into a taxi nearly three hours later, we were treated like royalty. Ryan and Christine were consummate professionals who were as outstanding as the food and wine. And the food and wine: out-of-the-box creativity in concept, visually pleasing and one pleasant caress of the palate after another.
You are a world-class chef running a world-class restaurant. I?m so happy that my wife and I were able to enjoy a truly remarkable evening at Rae.
I wish you nothing but great success in your culinary endeavors.
Warm regards,
David Bicofsky
