Named after the Mediterranean bass, this Italian BYOB goes heavy on the seafood and pasta while staying light on your wallet.

The Extras

Ordering the branzino is as entertaining as it is delicious: your waiter fillets the fish at your table---which is nice.

Tried this place on a Saturday night for the first time with great expectations....very DISAPPOINTED. We enjoyed the appetizer dishes of mussels in a garlic tomato sauce and bluefin tuna and goat cheese pasta; however, there was a 45 minute delay between finishing the appetizers and our main dishes being served. We got the branzino and a fish special. Not worth the wait. My dish was literally dripping in butter, despite the grilled fish description...disgusting. The branzino was acceptable, but not worth the 27$ price tag. Came with a side dish of soggy vegetables drenched in butter. When we politely asked about the food delay, the server committed what I think is an unacceptable error...saying that a bunch of orders came in at once. Never, ever blame the customer for your delays! Definitely avoid. 84$ for this BYOB was money poorly spent, in my opinion. With all the excellent byobs in the city, this one is definitely one to skip.

Branzino is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. It is rare to be able to eat several courses and have each and every one be perfect. It is also rare in downtown Philadelphia to be able to use a credit card at a B&B. There is no corkage fee. I highly recommend reservations. I have been eating out every night in downtown Philadelphia since last August. When people ask for my top recommendation I do not have to hesitate with the name 'Branzino'. Everyone has reaffirmed my choice.

Pros: The food speaks for itself.

Cons: None
