Would definitely not recommend..
The business name for this location is so misleading. Oh SO Disgusting is probably more appropriate!
I stepped in just under two hours ago and now I finally have a chance to write my experience from earlier this morning. I knew I should have went to the one on 19th instead. Being that I was in a rush, I thought it was a better alternative than street vendor food so I decided to walk in anyway. BIG, BIG, BIG MISTAKE! I learned my lesson after this and I will never step foot in there again. This was only my 2nd experience with them but my first time having their breakfast food.
They had a very minimal selection to start with but I wasn't looking for anything elaborate. All I got were scrambled eggs, home potatoes, 2 slices of watermelon and half an English muffin. For $6.23, the food was just not worth it. I didn't realize how undercooked the eggs were and I was so put off from the fact that I found a strand of hair embedded in the eggs. I realize that it is a buffet after all but they opened up @ 7am and I stepped in around 7:30 so my guess would be the inexperienced cook in the back. UGH!
In addition, once I sat down I noticed how all their ketchup bottles had about 33% of ketchup remaining, if that. The bottles seemed old and were sticky to the touch and the ketchup, suspiciously runny. I nearly lost all my appetite at this point. I probably took 3 bites before I noticed the hair. I pointed it out the guy behind the register and promptly threw out my food and left. He did offer me to get another plate for free but I politely refused.
I'm sure there's a reason why their food certificates and licenses were framed and strategically placed all the way at the top of the wall just right below the ceiling. Thinking back on it, I wonder if any of them were up to date or not.
I am also surprised at the amount of foot traffic that steps into this establishment. I realize that their location is only 2 short blocks away from 11th & Market but how anyone find their food worth coming back for, I will never know.
Be forewarned. I hope I don't end up with an upset stomach as I am typing this. There are definitely much better options out there. Just don't settle for this one!
