In Short – A former co-owner of the Kildare's chain and his wife have gone solo by converting the Kildare's at Headhouse Square to a family-run pub that serves American comfort food. The food, which sticks close to home with salads, burgers and bar apps, is prepared from scratch every day using hand-me-down family recipes and fresh local ingredients bought at market every morning. The family dinner crowd and anytime sports-watching crowd usually gives way to the younger, South Street, Old City and Manayunk set later at night, especially when the DJ spins and scratches itout on weekends.
Great place for lunch!

Stopped in on a whim to check out the new pub in the neighborhood.. Was weary because the previous Kildare's left much to be desired. I was 'happily' surprised as the food was fresh, the atmosphere quaint and cozy, and the service was superb. Definitely going to be frequenting here often-- I'm glad there's a great (not to mention affordable) place I can go for lunch nearby. Extra perk- they have free wi-fi for those who wish to surf the web on their lunch break.

WOW ! I was pleasantly surprised.
Just happened to find this place just before the SUPERBOWL got started....and guess what?, I found a new home.
I felt like I was at CHEERS...LOL
What a friendly place! ...and the food was good too
The owners mingled and were right there checking on you between getting excited for their Steelers. Of course, they will have to gey some E-A-G-L-E-S jerseys to wear also...LOL
Thanks for making it so much fun
Philly's best new pub on 2nd & South!

My wife and I went out for drinks on Sat night and had a great time at the Get Happy Pub. The wings and crab cakes were fantastic and the place has a real cool atmosphere. You can hang at the bar (downstairs or upstairs) or settle into a private table. Service was top notch and the family that recently opened the place were there working the kitchen and bar. It's definetly a place we'll feel good about patronizing! Recommend you check it out.
