Dill scrambled eggs and the bacon stack — two ol'-faithful standbys that are always on and always excellent.
My tastebuds thank you. Love this place like no other around Philly. Big fan of their coffee but it's the food that draws me back. It's a small little place which is a bit of a shame on the days when the folks are lining up but i have no problem waiting.
What happened to Ants Pants?. I don't know whether it was the fact that it was a Monday, and the Monday crew is 4th string and can't handle holiday crowds, but the service, food, everything was horrendous on Labor Day. The waitress wandered around like a deer in the headlights. Dishes were being sent back left and right. The normally friendly and competent staff seemed overwhelmed and irritated by the long line going out the door (even though half the tables were empty). This is a management problem. Need to plan better for a holiday weekend and put up your A-team. I will never go back.
great coffee, great service. what an exceptional place!!! i thought i was going into a little coffee shop- how excited was i to find that they offer breakfast & lunch as well. i had the eggs benedict and a cup of joe (of the austrailian variety i believe) and i cant complain about a thing. the decor is really quaint and there were smiles all around from the staff. the menu consisted of a good deal of sandwiches and salads as well and there's a beautiful selection of pastries in the front case. i absolutely look forward to going back.
iced chocolate!. Went on a Sunday afternoon. There was a little bit of a wait to get a table, and then the service at the table was slow because they were short on employees. BUT the food was fantastic - The dill scrambled eggs with honey wheat toast and feta cheese, and the hungry man with eggs, bacon, and french toast. Good sized delicious side of crispy fries. The courtyard in the back is adorable. The fresh squeezed OJ wasn't exactly fresh squeezed OJ, but whatever it was, it was good. Finished off the meal with an iced chocolate to go - ice cream, chocolate sauce, and something else, don't know what, a homemade concoction, delicious!
cozy and tasy!!. What a GREAT little coffee spot ... wish there were more places like this in Philly - and the staff is friendly and the pastries are very very good ... a very good cup of jo !!!!!! MLF 11-06
This progressive little breakfast/lunch/brunch cafe can afford the confidence to keep critters in its name..
In Short
The name is all about an Australian reference meaning "the best." So does the small Graduate Hospital area daytime cafe deliver? You bet. Kick back and order a Bacon Stack--and let the sunny side egg ooze through perfectly ripened tomato, bright arugula and crispy bacon and well-paired white toast. Lunch options include chopped salads, sandwiches stacked in Honey Maple Turkey served with avocado and brie, and one of the city's best BLTs.
