I dunno.
I have been going to this place for over 10 years now. I'm not much of a pasta person, but I love their Speidino de Mar (skewer of the sea). There is something about the grill prepared seafood kababs (shrimp and scallops) covered in breadcrumbs and cooked on an open wood grille then immersed in lemon butter sauce, that makes me smile.
But that was 10 years ago. in that time the price as risen abourt 3 bucks and the portions have diminished. They changed the size of the plate to hide it, but I can count. Fewer shrimp, fewer scallops, less bread and the bread is less of an artisan variety. The pasta, aside from the ravioli manacotti etc. is dried in a boxm not fresh or even frozen. If you really want a treat, buy some Scaramuzza's frozen spaghetti and make it at home. No, I am not Mr. Scaramuzza, just a fan of the product.
Server was great and they seemed to handle the popularity without diminishing the attention lavished on the customer.
But the place is always packed so I guess I am in the minority when I say meh! It's pretty good for a chain.
You can do better though.
Quality dining at a modest price. Carrabba's is a great restaurant. I am baffled by the negative reviews I am reading. Carrabba's wait is long because everyone in the county knows the food is good. I have never had a bad meal, only fresh and delicious salads, soups, fish and pastas. Choices are varied in every menu category. The appetizers include favorite stand-by offerings like fired mozzarella. But there are really novel things too: batter-dipped and fried zucchini. The sauces are well-flavored and delicate. The pastas are originals and never over-cooked. The deserts are generous and sinfully good. The soups are savory and the salads crisp, imaginative and nicely presented. Many items are prepared exactly as we do in our family. A great place for family dining, a comfortable conversation with friends, or even a date that will impress..
terrible! overpriced for bad food!. Never again! We bought takeout from Carrabba's. Chicken caesar salad was a failure, as the grilled chicken breast was both overcooked and dry, with a very distinct burned taste. I ended up feeding the chicken to our dog. Small portions for big bucks. Half of the crust of a children's menu pizza was also burned. YOU try getting a kid to eat burned food!! Another chicken entree was also overcooked. We paid a fair bit of money for terrible food.
Disgusting!!!. THIS PLACE IS OVERATED, MY WIFE AND I ORDERED THEM FOR TAKEOUT AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL THE CHICKEN PARM WAS COLD THE SAUCE WAS BLAND AND THE SPAGHETTI HAD NO SAUCE AT ALL ON IT, IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE EATING THE PASTA RIGHT OUT OF THE BOILING PAN. ALSO HAD HAIR ON THE BREAD THEY GAVE US AND HAD NUMEROUS PIECES OF PLASTIC IN MY GARLIC MASHED POTATOES. I EXPECTED BETTER FOOD PREPARATIONS AND HOT FOOD FOR THE MONEY WE SPENT. I WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME AT THIS PLACE AGAIN.
