p2p shut down on 5 May, leaving its customers with the message that all tickets would be 2-3 business days. After 2 weeks this refund has not appeared, no one answers the phone or replies emails. This means close to $100 of my money is gone. I bought the tickets from gotobus which is not helping with refunds either. How can I recommend a company that doesn't exist?
Pros: None
Cons: never used it, since they took my money and ran

All the other reviews are spot on with regard to service and in theory this is the best way to get to and from NY-Philly - better pickup points than the Chinatown bus and yes, friendly drivers. BUT on Friday night I took it for the third or fourth time, caught the 8.30 (which is the last one before 11.30, and thus the only way to get back to 30th St in time to catch public transit home), and the driver joked about us probably needing to push the bus back to Philly - we all laughed, but it turned out he was serious. On clearing the Lincoln Tunnel the bus groaned up the hill, but the driver insisted all we needed was new transmission fluid. Two breakdowns and two hours of driving later, we stopped at a gas station about 25 minutes from Manhattan while the driver tried unsuccessfully to get another bus out. When it did arrive at midnight, it was clear that this was the 11.30 scheduled bus because it was full of people, and the company never intended to send out a replacement bus. They bulshitted us about this for about three hours. So, I guess you get what you pay for. All passengers were thankfully in good humor that night, so rather than get nasty with the driver, who seemed helpless, we all made the best of the situation by chatting to one another. But then it was Friday night, and if this happens to anyone in a hurry they're going to be screwed. The upshot? It's a gamble, that I'll probably be taking one more time, because dammit it's a convenient service and it would be a pity for it to disappear. The company should know that they need to do a better job though, so anyone with a similar experience should post it to places like this.
Pros: Convenient, fast, cheap, reasonably comfortable and clean
Cons: Unreliable, poor resource managment by controlling company
