Poor. I don't know if it was because I was the last appointment of the day or what but I felt like my stylist just wanted to cut my hair asap and get me out of there. I just went in for a trim...she actually didn't cut off as much as I wanted so I asked her to cut more off, but she told me its too late. Overall, I did not like the service and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

No contest: Philadelphia's Best Salon!.
After an extensive search, and trying countless salons, I stumbled upon Ricochet. And thank God! I cannot say enough good things in this tiny space. Charlotte is my stylist, and she is passionate about hair. Not only is she brilliant with color, but her cuts grow out well. I've recommended six people to Ricochet, and they are all loyalists now. (And I am talking about some picky people!) Kurt only hires the top stylists, and they are all amazing from edgy, over-the-top cuts, to subtle cuts that you'd like to see your mom wear. This salon is for everyone, and they certainly make everyone feel welcome. Normally a salon this progressive has an intimidating factor, but Kurt has created an atmosphere that simultaneously makes you feel both cool and at perfectly at home. And the extras are great: snacks, a huge display of gossip mags, wine, shirts to change into while you are having color done.
I suggest giving it a try, and see what all the talk is about. Salon Ricochet will make you a believer!
Shady Reviews. Check out a review posted for SR on 8/21/06-- it's almost IDENTICAL (including the grammar error) to the one posted for American Mortals on 7/30/08. Who is writing these reviews (or "reviews")?? I would say we have somthing of a turf war going on. I was considering both salons for my next haircut, but after this I will go to neither. Readers beware.
Good Cut but........ A friend recommended Lana. She did a nice job on my hair cut and color. Lana was nice, v. quiet and nice. I was happy with my hair. Salon seemed nice, tidy, pretty. BUT the girl at the counter when I paid wasn't so nice. She exhaled alot, hardly talked to me, wouldn't make eye contact and tapped the counter when I couldn't find my card right away and wasn't pleased when I didn't make a next appointment. I thought she was gonna rip the pages in the book! She made me feel nervous and bad. It wasn't the kinda service you'd expect at a nice salon or with a first time customer. She was nice to other people that day, weird. I didn't do anything but try to pay. I know everybody has a bad day but I don't want to go back. Sorry, but when I have a choice I'd rather pay people who are nice to me. Most people have nice things to say about Ricochet, wish I was one of them.
Reasonable and fun!. I followed Lana over from American Mortals and have been nothing but happy. I love the atmosphere, the candy, the drinks and most importantly, the cuts! Everyone is happy...but not too happy and Lana isn't one of those people that talks because there's silence. I went through a few stylists before her that annoyed the crud out of me with stupid filler conversation but she's not like that. She has a brain, listens to what you say and is a sweetheart. Go there! Not too pricey considering it's CC Philly too!
best salon experience i've had. I dread getting hair cuts because my hair is damaged as hell and I usually cut it myself, so I feel like stylists pretty much hate me from the get-go...I'm also terrible at small talk and I am weak-willed, so if I don't INSIST that they don't have their way with my hair, they will. I was really happy with my experience at Salon Ricochet. Megan cut my hair and she did an awesome job. The communication was great, she listened to what I was looking for and didn't push her own preferences on me...nor did she make me feel like an idiot for doing my own bangs (even though I probably am). the salon had a great atmosphere, not the least bit snobby or pretentious and they played good music. I liked the products that they used on my hair, but I didn't feel at all pressured to buy them. I was able to get in a weekend appointment by calling about 10 days in advance - not terrible considering they do a really good job for a very reasonable price. I'll definitely be going back again and recommending to friends/family.
