STEAKS ON SOUTH is the best in Philly

Steaks on south is without question the best steaks I have ever had in my life. The staff is very friendly and its very clean. We went to the flyers game a few nights ago, wanted something really good yet something fast so we stopped at Steaks on south for dinner. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Friendly sevrvice, very clean and the food was outstanding. I would definately recommend Steaks on South to friends and family. I also like the wide veriety of drinks available. They have the mini old style Coke bottles too. It's definately a 5 star restaurant and I'll go again.... Jim Harvey S.P

Cheesesteak made perfectly!

Finally a cheesesteak made right at Steaks On South! Hanging on South Street for years I always avoided "the tourist trap" Jim's. SOS steaks are made to order. It takes a bit longer but it is truly fresh. They don't have a bunch of meat cooking all at once that they scope out to the masses.

The staff is fun and happy plus the bathrooms are clean.

• Pros: Fresh, good value, delicious, friendly staff, clean place and up stairs seating
• Cons: Parking

Its worth the time to wait next door for a steak from Jims

I decided to try SOS, thinking that I could get a cheese steak quickly, and that it would be decent. I was wrong. It was not very busy, but I still managed to wait about 20 minutes for a cheese steak. All around, the steak was inferior to those of Pats, Jims, Ginos, and Ricks (but not as bad as Jakes, which is in Liberty 2 food court). I also had to miss 20 minutes of football because they do not have any flat screen TV's to watch while you wait around for lack luster food. This place has a long way to go as they cannot mimic the steaks their competitors cook.

• Pros: Place seemed clean, staff was friendly
• Cons: Second rate cheese steaks, slow service
