STEAKS ON SOUTH is the best in Philly. Steaks on south is without question the best steaks I have ever had in my life. The staff is very friendly and its very clean. We went to the flyers game a few nights ago, wanted something really good yet something fast so we stopped at Steaks on south for dinner. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Friendly sevrvice, very clean and the food was outstanding. I would definately recommend Steaks on South to friends and family. I also like the wide veriety of drinks available. They have the mini old style Coke bottles too. It's definately a 5 star restaurant and I'll go again.... Jim Harvey S.P

Cheesesteak made perfectly!. Finally a cheesesteak made right at Steaks On South! Hanging on South Street for years I always avoided "the tourist trap" Jim's. SOS steaks are made to order. It takes a bit longer but it is truly fresh. They don't have a bunch of meat cooking all at once that they scope out to the masses.

The staff is fun and happy plus the bathrooms are clean.

Its worth the time to wait next door for a steak from Jims. I decided to try SOS, thinking that I could get a cheese steak quickly, and that it would be decent. I was wrong. It was not very busy, but I still managed to wait about 20 minutes for a cheese steak. All around, the steak was inferior to those of Pats, Jims, Ginos, and Ricks (but not as bad as Jakes, which is in Liberty 2 food court). I also had to miss 20 minutes of football because they do not have any flat screen TV's to watch while you wait around for lack luster food. This place has a long way to go as they cannot mimic the steaks their competitors cook.

Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I am a student who attends Jean Madeline, which is right next door to SOS. I go there daily, despite the fact that there are endless options in which to eat on South Street. You won't receive better customer service ANYWHERE on South Street. The staff is genuinely friendly and kind and I always feel like my business is greatly appreciated. I have never felt so welcomed in an eating establishment before. Plus, the food is great! A few other bonuses are the amount of seating available and they take credit cards, unlike most of the other steak places in Philly. You can't go wrong! :)

outstanding food. i was in philly last week, came home with two Great cheesesteaks from SOS. i wish i could visit philly everyday, my wife and i really enjoyed them.

i eat a lot of cheesesteaks. BEST cheesesteaks are truly grilled at Steaks On South... and i order cheesesteaks a lot . i'm always looking for a better cheesesteak - i have not found one better. your meat is the best - no gristle and no fat... i love lean meat! Maybe you should call your steaks "Voted Best in Philadelphia - SOS's Gourmet Cheesesteaks"! - 'cos it's the truth! Also the place is great to people watch, with the big windows.

A GREAT Philly Cheesesteak. SOS makes one of the best cheesesteaks in Philly, and I?d go there for that reason alone. SOS subscribes to the philosophy that using a ton of meat makes for a great steak. As it happens, I too subscribe to that philosophy. That?s why I?m a big fan of this great steak place.

These Guys are a JOKE. Hands down the worst place to get cheesesteaks, ever. They get your order wrong, make you wait to remind them to give you your drink after you wait 10 minutes for an awful cheesesteak. There is a sign that mocks Genos about what language you can order in, and it is a total joke. This place has no business mocking Genos when their steaks use half the amount of meat that Genos uses. This dive had no line on a sunny Sunday afternoon, while Jim's line stretched around the corner. They should try putting an honest amount of steak on their sandwiches. They really stink. Awful. Rather eat garbage for free.

vey good cheese steaks and customer service. I was very suprised the steaks were slammin!!!!! i was scared to even try them out but one night i said i will and i did. now usually i go to jims or something like that and now jims can take me off there customers list because this place is way better then jims. Jims started to be to chewy anyway. anyone who reads this and wondering about this steak place well i would say that you should try it for your self. everyone has there own taste of what steak should taste like but i bet you majority of the people would love this place. dont be scared just go and try them.
