From its rustric pine plank floors to its gingham-covered counter stools, this Northern Liberties diner oozes rustic style. The menu is a deliciously clever combination of Jewish and Southern comfort cuisine. Choices inlcude thick Reubens, vegetable latkes, matzoh ball soup, potatoe pancakes topped with cinnamon applesauce, chicken-fried steak, homemade green bean casserole and buttery drop biscuits. And with its yummy tofu scrambles, fruit-stuffed challah French toast and freshly squeezed OJ, it's a sublime spot for a leisurely two-hour brunch.

i was visiting from Virginia, and hadn't been to Philly in years after leaving AC. i must admit that initially i was concerned based on the location, thinking that the food would not be all that great.....................BUT...........the guacamole dip, the vegan chilli fries, your version of ranch dressing [with a hint of dill] - unusually tasty......and the dessert.....i honestly did not want to leave.... the regular customer, who took me there for the first time, clearly understood that i was having an ORGANIC experience, right there at the table...lol long story short, my child's daycare teacher is from Philly, and your restaurant is all i've talked to her about - we are making plans so that i can make it back there again over this summer, while i visit my mom in Atlantic City.....and please be open....lol thank you for the heavenly experience.

Fresh, local, and looks delicious. And that is just the staff. And then the food is so good! I have been here countless times and they really know how to work an EXTENSIVE menu FAST! The menu is crammed with tiny print both sides of wonderful things! vegetarian friendly! Something for everyone, and the servers are sweet and patient. Dr. Pepper from the fountain is so good here too.

My family and I come in weekly for the bargain breakfast-- two eggs, a latke, challah toast and coffee for four dollars. You can't beat that anywhere in town, especially not anywhere with this much charm and friendliness.
