Editorial Review for Honey's Sit 'n Eat – by Lauren McCutcheon

In Short
From its rustic pine plank floors to its gingham-covered counter stools, this Northern Liberties diner oozes rustic style. The clever combination of Jewish and Southern comfort cuisine means: thick Reubens, vegetable latkes, matzoh ball soup, potato pancakes served with cinnamon applesauce, and chicken-fried steak, homemade green bean casserole and buttery drop biscuits. With yummy tofu scrambles, fruit-stuffed challah French toast and freshly squeezed OJ, it's a sublime spot for a two-hour brunch.

My wife and I went to this resturant on our 25th anniversary and we were impressed. That was then and today's experience has put us in the NEVER AGAIN clients. We ordered a a brisket sandwich which we were going to share but for some reason when I attempted to cut it in half the a large section of the bottom part of the sandwich was so hard the knife could not cut it. I found out it was a larger peice of hardened cheese about 3' by 2'. That was bad enough when I saw a member of the staff with a large 'abrasion" on his right forearm. It may have been covered with some type of liquid bandage it should have been covered with some type of bandage. In California they would have closed the resturant down. There were a few other problems but the above are enough to make us only former customers.

I have been for brunch two times. There were very accurate about the wait time. The food is very good and the atmosphere fun for a sunday brunch place. It does get a bit hot in there- not sure about the AC function. Overall, I recommend it!

Pros: food and atmosphere

Cons: hot in there on a hot day
