I miss Sharyn!. I was in Philly for a year for work, and found Ultra. If I could afford to fly back for haircuts with Sharyn I would. If you have curly hair, she is your gal! She listens to what you want and will keep you in stitches for the whole cut. I've been to salons all over the country and this is by far my favorite.

love them. I went to Ulta about two weeks ago in diein need of hair help.. When i walked in everyone was so nice , they took my coat offered me a drink.. just lovely.. My stylist was Kevin charming man. I am a black female so i was a lil worried because of my hair type but he took me for mid length dead hair to short emo and i love it.. i can style it so many was and I'm giong to see him again in four weeks.. I would advise u to go it was 55 for my cut and i would have paid more..Thank you

Excellent Cut. I've been going to Kristen for years and she always gives me a great cut. I get compliments from everyone. Sharyn is a bit kinetic and kooky but everyone look great when they leave her chair. Their receptionist is a bit ditsy but harmless. Little things make this salon above the notch: super friendly & approachable, free bang trims, no attitude, and when I didn't like the color of my hair, both Sharyn and Kristen consulted with me on how to fix it and it looked great!

I love Ultra Hair Studio!. Okay, today I went back to Ultra Hair for the third time to get my hair cut and I realized I never took the time to go online and sing its praises. I only go here to get my hair cut and never felt even remotely compelled to seek other businesses. I'm a graphic design student so money is tight but I swear that getting your hair done there is worth every cent!

I'm originally from NH when I first come to Philly I had no idea where to go for a decent hair cut. Some places I scouted out looked more like hospitals disguised as over priced hair salons and other locations you couldn't pay me to go into. However, my hair was getting shaggier and to quote Jack from 30 Rock, "Your hair is like your head suit."

One day I was walking back on Pine Street after an adventure from The Foodery and I spotted Ultra Hair. When you are spacing out and walking by on the sidewalk it can be easy to miss because it blends in with the rest of the store fronts. It looked clean, professional and approachable. Thank God. I went in, booked my appointment and a few days later I got the best haircut of my life. Let me repeat that. BEST. HAIRCUT. OF. MY. LIFE!

Everyone who works there is warm, chatty and amazing at their job. I felt completely at ease explaining what I wanted and I ended up with was a hair cut that not only fit with exactly what I had explained but turned out even better then I had anticipated. If you want to get your hair done somewhere without feeling harassed and walk out feeling like a model by all means, go to Ultra Hair Studio!

Ultra- BEST salon in Philly !. The salon is located on Pine St. in a great neighborhood. It is bright and upbeat and I didn't feel intimidated like I have in other salons.

I've had the cut for almost a week now and it looks good straight, curly, in a ponytail, etc. Awesome job.

I definitely want to make this my regular place, even though I have to take in the train from NJ, it's totally worth it. I finally found a place that does great hair and I don't feel intimidated by snooty salon staff.

Finally, a great hair place in philly. So...after years of driving out to Harrisburg for a hair cut, I finally decided that I needed to give a philly stylist another try. I am very very very particular about my hair and I have had it long for years.

I decided to get it cut because I needed a change and I went to Kristen and I couldn't be happier. First she discussed what I wanted to do and, to my joy, she actually listened to me and I couldn't be happier with my new cut.

I loved that place, it felt like going to a friends house and hanging out....a perfect ten...I wouldn't go anywhere else

I GOT THE BEST CUT IN SIXTEEN YEARS & BEST HAIR COLOR EVER. Since I moved from Tokyo to the U.S. sixteen years ago, I have gone to countless salons (high-end-schmancy places, Japanese salons, etc.). Once you get used to the level/skill/sense of trend of Japanese hair styling, expectations are high and you become easily disappointed....and, perhaps like me, end up wearing hats all the time. Anyway, I read the reviews for Ultra (love the name) and made an appointment for my daughter Anya since I already had an appointment with a Japanese salon in D.C. Anya brought in a sketch and conveyed the usual, "wash-and-go, nothing fussy please." . Gia understood exactly what she wanted and gave her a gorgeous cut that is no fuss in the morning.

I was so impressed with Anya's cut that I cancelled my D.C. appointment and made one with Ultra. Gia and Sharyn gave me a great consultation and we were all on the same page. Gia gave me highlights, a gloss, and a cut. I walked out of there impressed, feeling fabulous and looking 10 years younger. So many compliments! We love the salon and love the people.... Sixteen years and many hats later...we finally found our salon.

This was fun. Just had my hair cut at Ultra for the first time, and I loved the way I looked when I walked out of the salon. I felt like a sex machine and didn't have to go back and restyle my hair afterwards.

Sharon is hilarious and has had great training. She made my shaggy head look stylish, and it makes me happy.

Amazing salon experience!. I get a haircut twice a year and I ALWAYS make sure to go to Kristin. So friendly and listens to everything you want. She gave me some seriously amazing tips for styling my hair everyday and listened to everything I wanted. She never rushes and makes sure you are completely satisfied with the service. Sharon seems to be great too but I haven't had a chance to get a cut from her. Book a little in advanced, their customer service is great. I called once to book an appointment but was left with a voicemail, they called back immediately and were extremely accommodating. Nothing but good things to say about this salon.

Owners Response-UPDATE. This person was never in my salon, was not just " put" with another stylist, nor was she ever charged anything. I'm sorry for the miscomunication. I had a family emergency & did the best I could on short notice to make sure all my clients were covered for Saturday. Gia's haircuts are 35. Sharyn and Kristen- 55. WORKSHOPS are 25. We are very good at what we do but are human & have families just like everyone else.
