Great Groomers - have been sending my dogs there for 2 years. I have been taking my dogs here for some time now and have had no issues. I have labs, so I don't have to worry about having my dogs coat trimmed at all, fortunately. Staff is super friendly, they love the dogs and the price is right on.

This place is the best.. People don't seem to understand that dog grooming is a lot harder than it looks. When people go to get their matted dog groomed with instructions to have their dogs coat left long they don't understand that that's impossible. Also these people don't realize that if they have specific and "out of the ordinary" instructions that it might take a couple times with a single groomer to get it right. Lucky dog is the best place because they do whatever they can to try and make it easy for the dogs. If they have a dog that hardly gets groomed and its all over the table, risking an injury to itself, they will send it home or request a sedative. I've seen these groomers do that and I think its better than stressing dogs out to the point where they hide under a bed for three days, or injuring a dog. Also, they are now owned by queen village vet so if anything like that does happen, they can take care of it immediately considering the vet is right around the corner. Lucky dog treats my dog wonderfully and I love it there. My pooch loves it too. And they really can follow instructions, because if they didn't they wouldn't have such a huge client base. I would recomend this salon to everyone and urge people to keep an open mind as to what any groomer goes through to get the job done. Dogs aren't easy to control. People need to understand that. Don't hate on my groomers. I don't know about the other groomers in the city but, this place is awesome.

Great dog grooming place-new name. I went to this grooming salon recently. It is no longer Oh So Pretty but is now Lucky Dog Grooming Salon. It now looks different that the photo posted on this site, apparently is was recently renovated when they changed names in July. I heard that a lot of the problems mentioned here were corrected and that is why I decided to go.

The staff were very nice. The place was clean. I met with the groomer since it was our first grooming so I could give her clear instructions. My dog was so happy and got a great cut. I wanted the ears a little shorter, told them when I picked her up, and they adjusted them at that moment.

They even noticed some skin condition and told me about it. My dog got the cutest banadanna ever from a grooming location!

Another little white dog was leaving with the cutest pink colored tail!

The staff seemed to really care about each dog and the owners.

I found their prices the same, or less, than other local grooming locations. The grooming place in Old City, I think it is called Chez Bow Wow(?), costs much more and does nothing special.

I will definitely go back to Lucky Dog and recommend it to others.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. This place is AWFUL! My dog looks ridiculous and they didn't listen to my instructions at all. I have a beautiful Yorkie/Maltese mix, Lily. She has an amazing groomer in South Beach -- not only does he do a wonderful job but he styles each dog to their individual personalities. I've been to a few mediocre groomers in the past but none as AWFUL as this place. I told them close to the body with long, flowing hair on the paws and I told them NOT to cut the hair on the top of her head. They gave her the textbook puppy cut and a bad one at that....nothing flowing. They told me they had someone who specialized in hand scissoring -- they should have said "hand butchering". They also put these cheap bow in that got twisted and knotted in her hair by the second day and caused her to cry when I tried to remove them. The worst part about this experience is not that my dog looks terrible b/c they are incompetence and don't listen to their clients or the pets, it's that they chopped off so much of her hair that I can't even fix it until it grows back. I would recommend taking a dull kitchen knife and doing it yourself before using this place. You'll probably do a better job! I hope they read this b/c maybe they will think about picking up a grooming magazine to see how professionals do it

Horrendous. We recently took our dog to "Oh So Pretty" - BIG MISTAKE! Our miniature poodle had a beautiful coat of hair; everyone would complement his appearance and his unique look. Based on the web reviews, we decided to try Oh So Pretty. At first, they seemed friendly and said that they would trim his hair a bit, but would keep it looking long and beautiful. Throughout the day they called to give updates. We specified that whatever they do, do not buzz his hair off; they agreed. However, when we picked him up, to our utter horror and surprise, our dog was shaved completely bald. There were even razor marks on his skin, and his nails were not all clipped. When we asked what happened, they said that they made an "executive decision". When we asked why they did not call one more time to discuss this decision, they said: "what do you want us to do about it now?" Fortunately, our dog's hair will grow back; but learn from our mistake, do not even try them once.

Incompetent groomers. We asked specifically for a trim that would not remove too much hair, would not leave our goldendoodle looking like a skinned poodle, would not remove hair around the muzzle, would not remove hair on top of the skull, and would leave the dog with a full coat looking like the puppy she is. They didn't pay attention to any of our requests and left the dog looking like a spider with ridiculous hairy ears and a deranged tuft of long hair on the end of her tail. They seem to know only one type of trim and that is to remove everytrhing down to a quarter inch.

Going to their heads, Bad attitudes, changing rules. I used to live in Queen Village and would frequent Oh So Pretty after the dog park for many years due to the convenience and living in an apartment. I used to use them even before there was a self service dog cleaning area and delighted when they started that. I moved to Old City and it seems everytime I want to wash my dog, they are out to lunch or closed at odd hours. I recieved an email from them asking for my support since they were up for best of Philly and it served as a reminder that I had put off washing my dog. My kids were in town so we made it an adventure. I called ahead to make sure they were open. After walking the 8 or so blocks, the lady told me I needed to call ahead by ten minutes. Okay,The place was empty. I assure you I am a well educated professional, but, in sweats I may not have seemed like a desirable customer, but, she was absolutely rude and offered nothing but a"NO". My dog is a two year old Ridge Back mix and a sweet dog. Since then, I have just washed Bela at home, but, will never go back. Funny how she probably was the one who sent me the email earlier in the day. She says they are much busier now than they used to be. I would not take my dog there since its obvious, we pet owners are not that important to them anyway. I'm sure others have had to deal with there poor attitude and odd closing times as well as there miserable attitudes. If they dont like what they do, do something else.
