This University City cafe feels like study hall, but with espresso, wireless Internet--and a full bar..
In Short
Laptops and textbooks occupy nearly every table of this dimly lit cafe on the edge of the UPenn campus. Chai lattes and cosmos are served day and night, and the chatter of many languages mix with cigarette smoke. A TV broadcasts over the black-granite bar; students study and snuggle along a banquette. In addition to serving imported beer and blue cocktails, the counter serves portobello panini, grilled cheese (Brie), turkey croissants, sushi and breakfast pastries.
