In Short – Pica's has had its loyalists ever since opening its original West Philly location in 1941 and up through its move to Upper Darby in 1956. The homey interior might be passe--ice cream parlor meets grandma's house--but the down-to-earth, straight-shooting service shines. The thick-as-a-book menu is a bible of Italian-American dishes, but the signature dish is its square pizza; the zesty tomato sauce is spread on top of a light layer of mozzarella cheese.
Worst meal ever

I used to go there all the time as a kid, and loved it, Im 30 now, and recently my freinds and I started going again. We had one or two acceptable meals, the scallops were good enough to come back for, but our last meal was insane, The waitress took forever to even acknowledge us, let alone bring drinks, we never got bread, we waited 25 minutes for the wrong pizza to come out, and she argued with us about what we ordered. My scallops were still good, and luckily the next correct pizza only took maybe 7 minutes to come out, the place was not busy at all. The table nearest to us had regulars and the waitresses were sitting with them the whole time joking and laughing while we didnt get drink refills, asked for desert orders and had to wait for a check.
We left no tip, understandably, and I work for tips, so I tip very well. The waitress chased us down in the parking lot and tried to flag down the car. We will never be going back.
- Pros: creepy picture in lobby, decent scallops
- Cons: fossilized, rude waitstaff, dated interior
Awesome Pizza

Pica's pizza is probably my favorite. My favorites are the original, extra cheese, or pepperoni. Be prepared that it's not your typical pizza. It's square, with sauce on top (except extra cheese, which tops it with cheese). The pepperoni is large and thin, the kind you get at the deli counter. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. The other food is good, but the pizza is tops!!!
- Pros: Pizza
- Cons: The servers sometimes give a diner-like feel. Also, there is one that is really cranky. Most are friendly though.
