Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides..
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
Very avreage food, inconsistent service. We have dined at both the South Broad Street location and the one in KOP. At least the one in town has good food and a nice decor but service is spotty and parking very expensive. The location in KOP is poor. The food was very expensive and very average. Service was not good with very long waits between dishes. We went there looking for a nice dining experience and dressed for it. Our experience was like we were eating at an old Howard Johnson's out on the Turnpike somewhere. Lots of familys with kids all dressed like they just got out of a game and very noisy. We will never go back to the KOP location, and for those prices there are plenty of much better steak houses around.
Great steak, decent service, though inconsistent. I have dined at Ruth Chris on several occasions and have come to the conclusion that it isn't really all that it's cracked up to be. Service is either absolute perfection or the opposite. My most recent visit was complicated by a server who started off the night perfectly, attending to our every whim, and then disappearing for about 40 minutes after entrees arrived. We quite literally had to track down someone to provide us with dessert menus. As for the food, the desserts need an update. They are all old hat. As for the main dishes, the filet is delicious, though I am always saddened to find fat in such a pricey cut of beef. I think I would rather walk down the block to The Palm...
A good ole steakhouse. I love Ruth Chris's. I've been to numerous locations! I went to the one on South Broad Street, with a group of my girlfriends during restaurant week. Our reservation was at 8pm and we were promptly seated when we arrived which was great bc it was fairly busy for a Sunday night. We all ordered the petit filet and mashed potatoes. The courses came out at a timely manner and our waitress was friendly and accommodating. My steak came out a perfectly cooked rare and the sides were plentiful, there was also a great selection of wine to chose from to complement the food. The dessert was fantastic, which is a huge thing for me to say, since I really don't like sweets that much. But if you come here- you definately have to save some room! The restaurant had a warm and vibrant feel. It's a great spot to bring your special date, just catching up with your friends or an evening out with the family. Either way Ruth Chris's creates a great atmosphere for almost any occasion! I will definately be coming back here again- but I could just be bias, bc I'm a steak and potatoes kind of girl!!
Great Steak!. The best steak I've ever had but probably won't go back. I just think it would be nice to get something other than a steak for the price. A small salad would be nice or a baked potato and that probably wouldn't break the bank!
One of the Best.
I got the Cowboy Ribeye, my wife got the Lobster Bisque.
The steak was fantastic (the hot butter was a nice touch). She claims the Lobster Bisque was the best thing she's ever eaten.
It's pricier than an Outback type place, but you're paying for the great food, great service and a very classy environment.
Take your date there, she'll be impressed.
Loved this place. Food was VERY good!! It's a little expensive. But it depends on how much you want to spend. Plus it's worth it!!
pricey but good. went for new years eve and had a wonderful meal...the side dishes were so good that my fiancee and i joked about going again and having just those...the lyonnaise potatoes were simply amazing, the filet mignon juicy and declicious...a little expensive but overall a great dining experience
