Barbara Lutz best hairstylist/colorist!. Barbara Lutz is fantastic! She is the best colorist in the city. My hair was badly damaged when I moved to the city and I was searching for an experienced colorist to correct what my former stylist had done. Barbara completely restored my damaged hair while keeping me blonde. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs corrective coloring she is a genius!

Richel Dambra Spa. Joe Butler has cut and colored my hair for a long time. He is always available, he listens to me and always gives me a beautiful cut and color. I would not go to anyone anywhere else and I suggest you all give the spa and salon a try.

I recently had a facial with Regina. It was my first facial and I will be making my next appointment with her, It was relaxing and my skin was 100% younger looking. Regina is very easygoing and I highly recommend her.

The owner of the spa, Richel Dambra, is always available, onsite, and makes certain that the staff is providing the bet services to every customer.

P.S. You will always enjoy the quiet and beautiful atmosphere of the spa and the champage is good too.

Wedding hair and makeup. I got married in Philadelphia in March 2010 and had my hair and makeup done by Richel D'Ambra Salon. I had a trial a few months before and was very happy with the hair and less happy with the makeup, but figured it would be ok when I had a chance to do it again at the wedding. One week before my wedding my makeup artist left the salon. The salon was extremely apologetic and really helpful - they set me up with a new makeup artist (Chrissy) and had me come in for a free trial when I got to town before the wedding. Chrissy did an amazing job and I was so much happier with her work!

The hair and makeup people came to the hotel where I was getting married. They were a little late, which was stressful that morning, but they then stayed until we left for photos a few hours later so they could touch things up. They did hair for five bridesmaids, me, and my mom and makeup for three of us and did a great job! Everyone was thrilled with how it turned out and I would absolutely recommend working with the salon for your wedding.

Nicholas is great - Spa Sucks. 2 of my friends and I had massages last Saturday. We inquired about the spa facilities upon check-in and were told it was full service with a sauna, steam shower and regular showers. We decided to go before our massages to relax and get the full spa experience.

We were greeted at the spa by what I think of as typical Philly service - not rude enough that you'll complain but not nice enough that you'll feel welcome. On the plus side, we were asked what we would like to drink and were rewarded with a nice glass of champagne.

We entered the ladies "locker" room and quickly discovered there was not a lot of room to move around. There are about 12-15 lockers - all of the locks were broken which meant we had to keep any valuables with us :( There were already two ladies sitting in the locker area and with one small bench they gave us a dirty look and vacated - guess we had invaded their space, this is obviously no fault of the spa.

We were each given comfy robes and slippers and with our wallets in tow decided to sit in the steam shower. Initially it was freezing but after a bit of work my friend was able to bring on the steam which was great. Eventually we decided it was close to time for our massages and we went to sit in the only available spot which someone already pointed out is a couch between the reception desk and the salon. Not exactly relaxing. They had cheese and crackers out for you to eat near the couch and a strange assortment of dvd's for purchase.

Eventually it was time for our massages, I was lucky enough to get Nicholas who was great, albeit VERY chatty! If you don't like to speak during your massage ask for someone else. He did a great job and threw in a bunch of reflexology which my friend paid an additional $25 for. The major drawback to the massage was that I could hear all of the other people in the salon or maybe just the ones getting their nails done next door? I get that the Ritz is in an old building but for the price would expect a lot more noise defining insulation in the walls at a minimum and really what they need is a renovation to seperate the "quiet" activities from the loud ones.

Overall, I think you will be happier with your experience and more relaxed if you go elsewhere. Oh and one last note, we liked the champagne and as we were checking out I said "Oh, we really liked the champagne, do you know what kind it was?" to which the receptionist scoffed and said "You did?!" Save your money....

If you are looking for relaxation Go Elsewhere!. This spa is the antithesis of what a spa should be. You would expect relaxation, forgetting about your worries and everything else a spa should be. Especially a spa at the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia. This spa was everything a spa should not be. When you wait for your appointment most spa's will have a calm and tranquil waiting area where you can relax and unwind while you wait. Not this place. Here you sit in a small area next to the area where people are getting their hair done and you have to listen to loud hair dryers and echoing conversations. Next you are also seated right next to the front desk. Where on the day we were there the staff felt the need to yell and loudly discuss their issues that day. The rest of the staff was running around and making for a more tense and stressful expereince than relaxing. The spa was also understaffed and they let everyone know it with their horribly loud conversations.

We actually had to cancel our appointment because we could not stand to wait there in that environment anymore.

Please save your money and go elsewhere. This is not what you would think the Ritz-Carlton should be.

RAELEAH. Used to go to Ritz for facials and waxing with Rae but now shes gone and I couldnt be happier for her cause that place is crazy. Overpriced. I get the same services from her at Pierre and Carlo and the prices are reasonable. Good in this economy

Wonderful Haircut!. New to the city - I surveyed several salons before selecting Richel D'Ambra for my haircut. What truly motivated me to give them a shot was the wonderful service I received well in advance of my haircut. Due to my crazy schedule, I called the salon multiple times to change my appointment and each time I was greeted warmly and accomodated without any hassle (thank you Najada!).

Initially I was a bit cautious of the treatment I would receive given the salon was located at the Ritz Carlton and I'm not exactly their 'target audience' but I was pampered from the minute I walked in till the end of my package. I got my haircut and accent highlights from Joe Butler. All I can say about Joe is that he is a wonderful person and an excellent stylist. He was patient on hearing what I wanted to get done and even better at explaining what would be a better choice for me (thanks joe).

Worst Spa, Rude Owner, Dirty Bathrooms, EXPIRED Products for Sale - Save your money and go somewhere else in Philly!. This is worst spa ever in Philadelphia! The owner, Richeal is very unprofessional, rude and stuck up.

This spa should not be at the Ritz hotel, they no idea what is considered good customer service, go spend your money else where. They also sell products that are EXPIRED - BUYER BE AWARE! The skill set of the staff is very mediocre, nothing one would expect at the Ritz. The front desk staff is not any better. Philly has a ton of better spas, so save your money and go somewhere worthwhile.

Truly extraordinary. Truly extraordinary. Richele and hear team have created an ambiance which takes the spa experience into an entirely new dimension of well being, far beyond pure estethics. The level of service and professionalism is unparallel to any other spa that I have visited over the past 10 years in various places in US and Europe. For facial treatments, I highly recommend Raeleah. I was extremely impressed by her depth of knowledge, education, professionalism as well as intuitive sense regarding the client's needs. In my personal opinion, Raeleah is the top skin care/facial treatment specialist in the greater Philadelphia region. I highly recommend this spa.
