Radnor >Great American Pub
It is what it is!.
It is what it is, people. don't expect Le Bec Fin.
To you who wanted your table held for your friends...make a reservation! You even said that FORTY-FIVE minutes later when your friends arrived, they were in everybody's way. That make me think that the restaurant was busy at that point and therefor they needed "your" tables If I was put on a waiting list because your friends were late or you were early, or whatever, I'd be annoyed at the hostess too! She's in a no-win situation there.
No one should be rude, but are you sure you weren't putting it out there in the first place by demanding that tables be held for people who weren't there?
Seriously, make a reservation next time you want to do this anywhere. Even places with "no reservation" policies will usually take them for parties of about 8 or more.
In my opinion, it's a good local place. The burgers are great, pizza too. Good beer selection. Don't go looking for wine there - really, people - it's a PUB!!! Great, laid-back atmosphere. Will definitely return many times.
Love this place!!. Great atmosphere, great food, great service, GREAT AMERICAN PUB!! I highly recomend it to anyone and everyone!!
Great Location, Great Town, Great American Pub. Suffering from the "Holiday Rush is Over" blues, my gf's decided to get together for an afternoon of shopping and a few drinks. We decided to pick Wayne for it's cental location and charm. Many places to choose but settled on (this was the biggest deal having made 5 women happy) because of the parking lot location to town. We had wine at the bar until our party was able to be seated and the bartender was great spirited catering to our requests. Our appetites were satisfied with a great selection of pub-style food and loved the oven baked on premises pizza. The fav was the salad with steak and blu cheese. The decor was beautiful and the stained glass lights add such charm. We look forward to returning and will make it an annual event. I look forward to returning sooner to try the rotissier chicken.
Staff is ALOT of fun and food is great "Philly" style food!. I am from out of town and we stopped in the Pub for a bit of "Phila-food".The hostess was busy, but very down to earth. there were 6 of us and she did seat us promptly. This was a Friday night and very busy. We had to expect a wait..it wasn't to long. She was apologetic and had us all smiling by the time she sat us. She also motioned for the bartender to wait on us while we waited for a table. The service was very good and the food was great. Thanks for a wonderful experience and we will be back!...Cheesesteak was delicious as well as an outstanding burger!
An Alternative to Good.
"Gee," thought I, "I would like to get all my friends together, eat and drink. The Great American Pub, with their generic menu of food and drink should appeal to everyone!" I didn't realize that in order to spend money on the mediocre fare, I would have to be either not young and full of life OR a complete loner, because these two things seemed to anger the manager. Every few minutes as we ate, ordered more food and drinks, and waited on our friends (laughing jovially!), we were asked if we were sure that our friends were coming or if there were indeed going to be more people. "Yes!" we answered, time and time again.
With more people showing up, our booths filling and additional money being shelled out, we continued to be asked whether we indeed had friends coming. When we said, "They're on their way," we got some serious "Bish plz" eye-rolling and eventually, our extra table was given away as our cold, hungry friends were walking in the door. "No problem! We'll just congregate at the bar and order more food and drink there." Too bad none of the bartenders would glance in our direction.
Apparently we were unworthy of service or even a modicum of decency. I would recommend the Great American Pub to those without friends or money, as apparently the manager and bartenders look down on both.
LARGE PARTIES BEWARE OF RUDE AND UNJUST BEHAVOIR FROM STAFF!!!!!!.
I came for a happy hour and was treated rudely by the hostess/manager? She was an older woman who was extremely rude to my large party of 15. This was a work related happy hour/dinner and because the party did not all arrive at once (hello, not EVERYONE gets done at 5 people!) we were treated rudely from the start.
While waiting for our coworkers to arrive, we were snapped at and staff were rolling their eyes at us because we wanted to reserve 2 tables (enough room for 12 of our 15 people planning on attending). The restaurant was empty and I can't see how they would want to give us a hard time for bringing a large group in to spend hard earned cash on their services.
45 minutes after our initial arrival (5 of us), coworkers started to arrive and the staff began to give away our reserved tables! UNACCEPTABLE! Almost half of our party had no where to sit! We are paying customers who were ordering food and alcohol and we spent a good deal of money and were treated extremely poorly. This woman who gave our tables away as friends were arriving with NOWHERE TO SIT and were in the way of other guests and servers. This is outrageous. I am fuming mad a week later and will NEVER EVER RETURN. The food was average, at best and the service was horrendous. good riddance!
incredibly rude; average food; no drink specials?. I was treated *horribly* by an employee here. I will NEVER be returning. Not that I would based on the food either, which was average at best. Don't waste your time--unless you want to deal with impolite, snippy employees. I will be going elsewhere for Happy Hour...where people might actually make me happy? Oh, and who have actual drink specials too. Unbelievable!
Where is my food?. The Great American Pub in Wayne is a nice location. The atmosphere was nice with nice outdoor seating. But my experience was not very nice. The prices were right but my food never came. I went with a friend who ordered a pizza. I ordered a sandwich and some mozerrella sticks. The sticks came out, then the pizza came but I never got my sandwich. The waitress asked how we were doing and I asked for my food. She came back 20 min later and asked again how we were doing. I asked for my food and a refill and neither came. When she brought the check I was charged for a sandwich. I had her take it off. It was a good thing my friend was willing to share her pizza. Needless to say I left a little hungry that night. I will not recommend that spot to anyone. I never even got an apology. Good luck if you go. Hopefully your service will be better than mine.
Great little spot!. Great food for the price - nice presentation & very tasty - Kid friendly as well. A great little spot to relax & enjoy a meal after shopping the Wayne area. Dimly lit upscale taverny feel. Graet bar for just hanging out or enjoying a specialty.
