Impressive Stadium: High Prices. Very impressive relatively new half million $$ construction which replaces the old Vet. Holds 60 or 70k people, and is the stadium where the Philadelphia Eagles play their home games. Compared to some of the more outdated venues, this has been constructed with ample bathroom space (which used to be an issue a couple decades back with some of the Philadelphia venues) and plenty of exits from the field. From the inside and out the stadium itself is massive and impressive. This would easily earn a 5 star rating if it were not for the price gauging (which I conceed is to be unfortunately expected at any such venue these days) at the concession stand; for suveners, for parking, and most of all for prices to events themselves.
Better sight lines, seats and turf--the Eagles' stadium has all the fixings..
In Short
With the Vet put to rest at the close of the Eagles' 2003 season, Lincoln is now home to stadium shows, football games and soccer matches. The high cost of games, seat licenses and concessions have irked local sports loyalists, but improved seating, better flow between levels and a football-centric design make attending games feel less like watching a match in a giant concrete bathtub with 60,000 neighbors. Players will like it for the real live grass.
The Linc is new Home for Eagles. Lincoln Financial Field is the new home to the Eagles. I toured the Stadium during the public open house a few weeks ago. the sightlines are awesome and the fans are closer to the Field then ever. However a key element will be whether or not the Linc will be as imposing for visiting teams as the Vet once was. the Vet was known around the league for having the worst turf and the worst fans, esp the 700 level. That question remains unanswered. The # of luxury suites in the Linc does bother me b/c that means there is less room for the real Eagles fans, the 700 level fans who truly define homefield advantage. if everything works out Eagles could win Super Bowl this year.
