Hands Down...There is no better BBQ

Abners is the best. The chicken and ribs fall off the bone! They have several different types pf BBQ sauce and there is a BBQ sauce for everyone. The sides are no joke! The cornbread...good....mac and chesse.....good......mean greens......good...baked beans......good

The people are friendly and it is the perfect place for BBQ. Better than Virgils in NYC! This place should be number 1. It is in my book........nough said!

Can't do better

Having lived in North Carolina for five years, I can say this is the closest you can get to real NC BBQ this far north. They haven't mastered the hush puppies or slaw yet, bu the BBQ with tableside viniger-based sauce, is right on the money. The quality of the meat used is even better than some NC grease joints! Brisket is also great, if a bit smokey for some novice tastebuds. Would love to see smoked tuna, bluefish, etc.

I found Abner's to be a terrific overall value. The ribs were perfectly prepared with a dry-rub, without sauce. The meat was tender, very tasty and came off the bone easily. If you want BBQ sauce, they have 5 terrific homemade sauces. The smoked beef brisket is also spectacular, as was their "award winning" chili. Their sides dishes are all homemade. I like items sold separately because sometimes I like buying only BBQ meats, while other times I want a side dish or two. I like this flexibility. The free soda refill is also great.
