Best Japanese food in town!. Lived in Philadelphia for all my life, ate at many local Japanese restaurants and across the country - this is one of the best I've ever had!! A++++++

Excellent. I have traveled around the world many times. This is certainly one of the very best Japanese restaurants outside of Japan. And it would be one of the best in Japan too.

A different Experience. Kissen is a very cool tempura bar with a futuristic interior. Extensive menu of mostly Japanese mixed w/Korean. We sat at the bar and had a very enjoyable meal with prompt sevice (they seem to have rectified earlier complaints). Excellent tempura and very good sushi. The scallion w/scallop soup was delicate and flavorful and the tempura presentations are works of art! I'll second the Uni (sea urchin) tempura - delicious! BYOB now but liquor licence coming soon. This is a great place, I don't think there is anything like it in the city.

We all loved this place. Attractive, clean, great food and terrific service. The uni tempura is sensational.

Horrible Service. My boyfriend and I went there recently to celebrate Valentine's Day. Our table was right next to the door with cold air blowing in. There wasn't any room for us to even pull out the chairs to actually sit down. That's how crammed the tables were to each other. We decided to sit at the sushi bar and waited a long time to order. I think we were there for an eternity, that's how slow the food came out. The food was okay, but not worth the prices and the huge wait. (1.5 hrs. for 4 sushi rolls and a tempura platter!!) I'll stick with Hikaru off of South Street!!
