Editorial Review for Little Tuna – by John DeBlasi
The Scene
Locals cram into this small dining room with friends and bottles of store-bought wine. Sleek black-and-white photographs against earth-tone walls create a modern art-deco feel. Expect noise, as conversations ricochet off walls in the tiny quarters. Although friendly servers aim to please, they sometimes lack attentiveness and efficiency.
The Food
Picky diners can find something amongst the samplers and combos and a menu that's split evenly between remarkable and forgettable. The crab etouffee starter, sauteed in an onion and pepper concoction and wrapped in a light, flaky puff pastry, is excellent. Mussels in basil and garlic infused red sauce are average; almond-crusted opah with sweet mashed potatoes is dry and uninspiring. Instead, opt for the half Maine lobster, broiled golden brown and stuffed with chunks of fresh crab meat and chorizo sausage. Tuna's dessert selection is limited, but does include a worthy sweet pistachio crusted fudge brownie drenched in a raspberry sauce.

Wonderful dinner- even better dessert!!! Try the brownie sunday. Service was good. The place is a little small and can get a bit loud-- but who wants to eat in a library anyway. Definitely will be back.

We had a wonderful experience. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lot of questions, due to certain allergies and he was able to answer each one and better yet, since everything is fresh and made to order, they were able to accommodate every request. When dining out, as we do quite often, we sometimes find ourselves holding off on ordering the entrees until our first and second courses are finished as not to be rushed. We didn't do that this time and were not rushed at all- everything was timed perfectly. The food was delicious- especially the Gumbo and, of course, the Wasabi tuna steak- seared to perfection! Prices are reasonable. We liked it so much we're considering hosting our reunion upstairs in their private dining room!! Highly recommended.
