Bad decor, worse food.. This restaurant is a souped up olive garden with cheesy decorations exploding out of every area in the restaurant. The food is a joke. With all of the fantastic, authentic Italian food in Philly, I'm not sure how this place even stays in business.

Not real Italian Eating. This is not how Italians eat. They eat a lot of small portions. Normal size appetizers are shared. Not large portions like this. FOOD WAS DISGUSTING, no real Italian would ever waste their time or money. I was forced to go and I had indigestion the rest of the night!

Why Bother w/Buca in Philly?. The portions here are gigantic and well priced. However, the food is average to below average. The chicken marsala was pretty gross (crappy marsala wine), and while the remainder of the dishes were tasty, they were also extremely salty. I can see why this restaurant would be success in small towns with few options; but really, with all the great Italian restaurants in Philly, there is no reason to waste your time at Buca.

Philadelphia. While the prices were inexpensive and the food okay, there really wasn't any dazzle to the cuisine. It was average, compared to all the great tasty meals offered by italian restaurants in South Philadelphia, this really doesn't rise above. Our waitress was fantastic and honestly, I don't like to cook so walking me through the kitchen was really unnecessary, I could really care less. I would avoid the famous cheesecake. The raspberry sauce was too sugary and sweet and the cheesecake itself held no flavor.

Great service, great food!. This was an interesting and fun experience as we enjoyed a night on the town. Our first impression of the restaurant were lovely ladies offering sample pizza at an arts festival, who convinced us to eat there without any resistance. Then, the outstanding staff took care of us from beginning to end. The food was really great (definitely try the pan fried mozzerella) and we enjoyed the pizza, as it was fresher than many others. What really stood out, though, was the absolute friendliness of the staff there. Shouts out to the beautiful waitress from KS and all her friends that made our experience a memorable night!

I Love Buca!. Buca di Beppo is a fun atmosphere with awesome food! How does could this place make a mockery of Italian food when it is upholding the tradition of Real Immagrant Southern Italians?? There is no mockery involved. Just good old fashoned good food and a good time. And how many places do you go in the city where the service is this good?? Not many. The atmosphere promotes fun, family unity and lots of wine consumption. What more can a family ask for when going out to dinner??? Mockery my butt!

Let's Go Bowling!. One of the greatest diservices you can do to yourself is let Buca's flashy, campy decor distract you from the menu. Served family style (that's large portions, meant to be shared), Buca is the perfect place to embarrass your parents for their anniversery or liquor up a buddy at the start of a bachelor party evening over delicious southern italian cuisine. Drinks could be stronger, or better yet skipped, as the wine selection is fabulous and the staff knowledgeble thereupon. TRY THE SPECIALS! Salmon Syricusa should not be missed. Top it off with their bangin' tirimisu and limoncello, then hit the ladies' room for the ambiance. The servers seem to be enjoying themselves and attribute to the overall colorful and embracing atmosphere. Ask for Fabulous Joe as your server.

buca di peppy, but dont eat there. i've never been to a buca di beppo before, so i was definitely impressed by the originality of the restaurant -- the tour befor being seated, the decor, the different themed rooms and the table in the kitchen. however, once seated i was annoyed by the haphazard service, the noisy crowd was too overhwelmingly noisy within the first 5 minutes, and most importantly-- the food was BAD and dissapointing all-around.
