Friendly staff, better-than-average bar food and a raucous atmosphere for games are among the factors that make FPS stand out.
Great Atmosphere...Great Staff!!!. Used to live in this neighborhood and frequented FPS often. Moved to Jersey and still come back every now and again. Tuesday nights are great as they have Quizzo hosted by Helium's Wid. GREAT time and prizes. The food is pretty good...and the menu changes up every now and again. If you are an out-of-towner...this is a VERY comfortable neighborhood pub to sit and have a few beers, and get a feel for what Philadelphia city life is like.
Great food, Great people, Great service. I moved to Queen Village 2 years ago. I always go here for happy hours and great food. order anything on the menu, they are all great. The place get really packed on Friday night and Saturday night. But you don't have to wait long. Waitress will do whatever it takes to get you seated as soon as they can. Only one problem that i don't like about is you can't sit outside for happy hour price anymore. It's at the bar only. I want to be able to sit outside and drink beers but now we can't do that.
EXCELLENT pub food. I live in the neighborhood but only started going to Pete's during this football season. The food is excellent, the staff is so nice and the atmosphere is very chill. The Sunday bartender makes the best bloody mary's. I am a bar manger in the city so the last thing I want to do on my one day off is go to a bar. Pete's has not only impressed me, but has become my local watering hole.
Great Local Bar. The atmosphere at For Pete's Sake is very upbeat. The staff is great and the food maybe the best I had ever had at a small corner bar. I strongly suggest trying it out!!!!
Avoid like the plague!. This place is horrible. Whoever wrote "good customer service must have been the owner". I was there recently with 4 friends and I ordered a soda, after a few drinks. The bartender came over to the table with it like 20 minutes later and said here is your drink and called me a curse word and then dumped half the soda on my lap and on the table onto my friends clothes and called me a curse word again!! I'd rather go to D&B, it takes an hour to get a drink but they never curse at you or spill the drink on you on purpose. I'll be at Kildare's from now on.
Queen Village's upscale sports bar honors college teams, as well as the NFL..
In Short
This isn't your average Coors Light franchise: The front door's pair of decorative wrought iron handles, when pulled, unveil a blond-wood interior and a gas fireplace, while the drink menu features local microbrews and better-known bottled beverages. Baseball and Monday Night Football drink specials are complemented by college drinks specials on Saturdays. The menu--available for lunch and dinner--focuses on finger foods and small plate dishes: burgers, pasta, meat loaf and grilled chicken.
My USUAL local pub. This is "my cheers". The best bar food, served late too....i always try the specials, even salads. My favorite are the wings. Good beers on tap...very friendly, small, great for sunday eagles football--I won a door prize once. I always take my friends here when they're visiting and we want a place that's low key but serves great food...this is it...and you can even roll up in your sweats!
An Irish Pub - Philly Style. You do not have to be fresh from the 'Emerald Isle' or a Philly resident to enjoy the warm pub atmosphere at For Pete's Sake ! It's always a friendly crowd and the line-up of 'social chemists' making your favorite cocktail or pouring a pint from their very nice selection of imported or domestic brews , make you feel like family ! A little hungry ? Check out the bar menu for some great pub fare. A lot hungry...stay for dinner...you won't be dissapointed !
Great Time. Great Staff, although the chef is a little moody, but very sweet, lol. Great food! Gotta love a bar that has the "cheers" vibe.
cool place to eat during the week. stopped in one night for a beer and sandwich. what a pleasant surprise. there were more than sandwiches and the food was darn good.
