Venerable Old City destination for eclectic, occasionally exotic beers. Just be careful: There is a very good chance you'll end up spending the entire night here once you get started.

Prime day-drinking vibe, with just enough light streaming in to keep your internal clock ticking. Only opens early Thu.-Sun., but put it on the shortlist for pre-Ritz-matinee drinks.

A welcome haven for beer lovers (especially fans of Belgium's offerings) that's much calmer and grown-up than many of the surrounding businesses in wacky Old City.

Most excellent beer list! Cool two story bar but limited amount of tables.
Fun and Funky. Big Beer Selection.. Outside of the Pacific Northwest and New England it's not always easy to find a bar with a wide range of beers, especially something other than lagers and microbrews that are basically lagers in disguise. While Euglogy has a fair number of the latter, they do have enough variety to quench the thirst of those looking for a true IPA or a real stout. The food is just ok and I disagree with the other reviewers about how good it is. In short, a fun, but dark, hole-in-the-wall place with great beer. Our wait staff was friendly and prompt.
GREAT ATMOSPHERE & BEER SELECTION. A great place to enjoy Belgian beer in an authentic atmosphere. Great bar food too. The week ends get pretty crazy, better to go on week nights
Stay downstairs!. Their beer selection is fantastic. There are so many import and domestic choices, you will not be disapointed. However, the upstairs bartender seems to forget, very often, that he is in the service industry. We know that he has his own "regulars," but that is no excuse to be rude to or ignore other customers. I highly suggest you visit Eulogy, but I highly suggest that you stay downstairs. You'll find the staff much more pleasant and accomodating.
best beer and food in Philly!.
i definitely recommend Eulogy to anyone who loves GOOD beer and delicious food.
the staff is extremely knowledgable about the 300 selections of beer, so don't be afraid to ask.
for a great time in Philly at a reasonable price... it's Eulogy!
GOOD TIMES!
Best burger....EVER.. I don't normally like burgers from places other than Copa...but oh my god Eulogy's bacon cheeseburger w/fried onions was the best I've ever had! Definitely worth checking out.
Need to update their website.
We made a reservation to celebrate my birthday (1/19/08). I decided on Eulogy based on the menu on their website.
We got there for our 7:30 reservation and were told our table should be ready soon. Three more employees for then next 20 minutes kept asking us if we were helped, one didn't even wait for a response. Asked the question then ran down the steps.
I was very disappointed to see that the menu we were handed was very different from the one on their site (except the mussels). I understand that menus are subject to change. Imagine my surprise when our waiter told us that the website hadn't been updated in 6 years.
We wound up walking out without ordering. Very disappointed.
Best beer selection!. My favorite bar in philadelphia for beer. Amazing selection.. just read all the reviews! Had dinner for the first time there - the food was amazing - However, the portion sizes were so small!!! And for the price I just thought we'd get a little more. But besides that, Great place!
stellar selection and service!. my boyfriend and i passed by eulogy a few weekends ago but weren't able to go in due to the large crowd. on a return trip to the city last weekend we decided to stop in for a pint before seeing a movie. one pint turned in to 6 delicious pints (most of them suggested for us by the very knowledgeable bartender on duty) and the lentil burgers with goat cheese we ordered were outstanding! we never made it to our movie but we had a great afternoon drinking beer at eulogy.
New chef rocks!. This place was already good when we first went, but the new chef has made this place even better. Every server we had knows their beer. Exceptional Belgian beer selection, without the crowd/noise of Monk's. When recommendations are needed the waitstaff are quick to suggest. Appetizers are the way to go here - the hoegaarden braised shrimp and duck confit are the best. Burgers are amazing. Great selection on the new menu. No complaints, eat here!
What happened. My girlfriend and I were at Eulogy too this weekend, it was packed even more than usual when we sat around 8pm, our server told us it was a crazy busy day all day, he never had so much sales in his life. Our food was delicious and served fast and friendly as usual, I got mussels and she got burger and fries, definitely best in the city and a bargain. After dinner the downstairs bar was too crowded so we checked out their new place Beneluxx around the corner. More of a wine and cheese focus but also about 40 beers on tap and beautiful inside, the wall of taps blew me away, 90 beers and wines on one wall, it made me dizzy. Beneluxx was crowded but not packed like Eulogy, I suggest making reservations for both places since they are very popular with the Philadelphia diners due to great food and great beer. I agree the place gets better and better every year it is open.
