In Short – Belgian-owned spot delivers two ingredients missing from the glam and hype of Old City's nightlife scene: good beer and relatively down-to-earth people. Folks on both sides of the bar are more VH1 than MTV--even if one of the owners is Glen from "The Real World." The more than 300 draught and bottled international brews provide patrons with ample sipping options. The bar's specialty Belgian twiced-fried fries complement the homemade hamburger and sirloin steak sandwich.
Best Fish 'n Chips in town.
by EatWellSatori
The chips... were de-lish. Crispy on the outside,
and melty soft on the inside.
The fish was excellent too... closest thing to the local London Chippy!
The side/dip sauce... could have a tad more fiest to it!
But all in all... the Fish 'n chips... were excellent!
Downside... there was only one bottle of vinegar in the 2 floors of service area, and my chips had cooled off by the time the our waiting mate could locate it.
Make sure you have them get the malt vinegar and worcestershire sauce upfront... before the food arrives... if you like your chips that way.
Beers were great... Frambois on tap... yum!
Cheers!
- Pros: Really good ... Chips!
What Happened to Eulogy????
by Jennifer1979Philly
I'd thought I just share my email that I sent to the owner today....
On Friday, I had a reservation for the Coffin room for approx 25 people. My fiance and I have always loved Eulogy and frequented often over the past 2 years, however, our service was absolutely horrible on Friday. I informed you of the need for approx 10 pitchers of Stella and lots of fries. When the birthday boy and I arrived our guests were receiving their own drinks. BUT it took us 25 minutes to get a drink and to place any type of order with Martin. Martin was constantly busy and we wouldn't see him for long periods of time.
The room was very hot and when some of our guests said something to Martin they were told it's because the room is above the kitchen. We had 5 people leave because of the heat . It wasn't until one of the guests noticed there was an a/c unit and asked Martin if it could be turned on. His response "All you had to do was ask". Are you kidding me?
When I asked for the 10 pitchers, I was told there was only 5 available. When he brought them out, there were NO glasses. I was told they were all out. The pitchers sat there for at least 25 minutes before we got approx 10 glasses. That's hardly enough for everyone.
The only thing that we received quickly were the fries and the bill. Between not receiving a call back or an email when I repeatedly contacted you and your bar and with the horrible service, I was pretty disheartened. We loved Eulogy, but will not be rushing to come back anytime soon after Friday night. It really made a potential fun night very stressful for me.
I am sorry to send you this email, but you need to know about your servers and the type of service your guests are receiving. As an owner of an establishment, it should be in your best interest to serve your customers in the best manner possible, which clearly the 25- 30 people I had there on Friday didn't receive.

- Pros: Great Beer Selection, downstairs Bartenders know their beer
- Cons: Horrible service to groups, do not have enough servers for upstairs
Best bar in town

If you havent been to Eulogy you are missing a fantastic piece of Philadelphia. The food is excellent, the service is immediate and the beer list speaks for itself. I am a regular at Eulogy and will continue to be a regular. I am a big fan of trying different beers and really learning about the beer at the same time...this place is perfect for that. There are many things on the menu that are "must tries"...fries, mussels, hanger sandwich, cheese plate...and of course all the beer. The buffalo wings arent the best Ive had, but thats about the only thing I can think to say negative about this place. The bartenders here are the most knowledgeable I have ever met. They can make dozens of recommendations, tell you about the brewing of the particular ale, tell you about the history of the beer and even tell you the best temperature to drink it. It makes visiting Eulogy more than just a night at a bar...its more like a history lesson, museum and party wrapped into one. Sophisticated or sloppy drunk I love this place.
- Pros: Beer list, bartenders
- Cons: nothing
