Not so great.... I came here from NYC, where there are a ton of really good (I mean REALLY good) authentic Korean spots, and I was looking for similar in Philly. So when I found Han Wool, which was close to me, I was keen to try it. Was disappointed each time: The first 2 times I ordered out, I got bibimbap- which was cold, and the egg was not cooked through (both times), as I requested. The next time, I thought to try something different and ordered "Seoul Ddook Bae Gi Bul Go Ki" which is supposed to be a soup that tastes like bul go gi, but with rice cakes in it (please note "soup"). What I got wasn't soup- it was just bul go gi. With rice cakes in it. I ordered this again on another occasion, thinking that they perhaps messed up my order last time- but no, it was the same thing. The next time, I decided to eat at the restaurant itself, because I thought that maybe they do better at in-house service than take-out (some places are like that, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt). I ordered "Yook Gae Jang", which is described as "beef, vegetables, and scallions in hot, spicy soup". I grilled my waitress to make sure I was getting SOUP, and not just beef or vegetables. She assured me it was. And this time- YES! it was actually soup. BUT there was no beef. When I inquired "where's the beef?" (sorry, couldn't resist), she told me that the beef was sliced so thin that I couldn't see it. ????? Beef sliced so thin it's invisible? Come on. While she was standing there, I picked through the soup, and found two mini beef morsels, and she said "See? There is beef, but we usually slice it thinner than that." I told her thank you and laughed at myself. Needless to say, no more beef was found. The soup was good- there was just no beef. Conclusion: the food is almost never what they say it is, and is also usually mediocre. The service is worse- unless you're Korean, that is... I suppose it's good business sense, but it still annoys me. And they are overpriced. Not worth it at all...
Disappointing. It took the staff about 25 minutes to even take our order (at lunch!). The waiter made a mistake about what a dish contained (said it had meat when in fact it did not). The food was ok, but did not go so well with the cold rice. I won't be coming back.
