Aviod. Period.. The pizza is terrible and has been served cold all three times I have gotten it. It tastes like it has been reheated numerous times and it's not cheap. Workers are unfriendly, slow, idiots and seem to always get orders wrong including mine and everyone else's. I would def. avoid this pizza place at all costs like all of my friends and I do. Stick to the one on 13th and Walnut(across from woody's) cheaper, better, and fresh, or Pietro's(17th and Walnut) for some even better.
Avoid the wheat dough. The pizza is really good unless you get it on the wheat dough. The wheat crust looks good but tastes like cardboard. Seriously, whatever you do, don't order the wheat pizza. Avoid the wheat or you'll be stuck with a pizza that tastes like cardboard.
Best pizza in the city. Since our move to Philadelphia last year, we've tried a number of pizzerias throughout center city. Paolo's definitely has the best we've tried. Great staff and great food. Highly recommended!
worth a wait. Pizza here is generally great, if they are busy however make sure you ask for it well done otherwise I dont think they cook it enough. Great service though, and good all around Pizza
East Coast Pizza is the BEST. You people that live in the east are so damn lucky to have the best Pizza and Seafood at your finger tips. I'm a native Californian and we have nothing here that compares to your flavors and tastes. Last time I was in Phily I stopped in to Paolo's and had 4 different slices of pizza and was blown away. It reminded me of Italy, the style and taste was traditional old world. I wish we could have something like it here but I've yet to find anything that come close. Enjoy all that your local area has to offer, Paolo's was one of my favorites.
Never again.
We have been customers for over 8 years, ordering the Paolo Special almost every Friday night. The service/food has been consistent until this past summer and we've stuck by them UNTIL tonight.
At 6:54 pm I ordered the Valentino platter and our usual Paolo Special.
At 7:35 pm a Valentino (missing the fries) and a Paolo Special arrived missing the garlic sauce...it tasted horrible.
We called and were told a new pie would be sent out.
At 8:30 pm we were still waiting. I called to ask where my pie was and was told, "Oh yeah, I should have called you sooner. I checked with my manager and she said we can't send you another pie, but next time you come in tell us and we'll do something for you."
Upset that I had waited 1 HOUR for my replacement pie to find out it was NOT coming I hung up.
We called back to ask to speak with the manager. The phone was passed around to 3 different people- ending up with owner who claims he made the pie himself and knows that he did not forget the sauce.
I have NEVER received such poor customer service and been treated so rudely!
We will NEVER order from them again and I suggest you do the same...I can think of much better ways to spend $25.
good food. this place has great food for a great price i highly recomend it.
