what a great time.
I dined two weeks ago with five other friends at Places Bistro, granted we were not there to see a play, but it was great, the food was fabulous, I had the goat cheese salad and it was done just right. Our waiter Owen was casual but very attentive and was well versed in the various dishes they serve and their preparation. The rooms were charming and had fireplaces in them, It has even gone BYOW which we totally took avantage of. There was a small corkage fee but that didn't bother us. I must say that all in all it was a very good experience.

Leaves much to be desired.
Despite its charming location, and beautiful outdoor surroundings, Places needs a bit more polish in terms of service and ambiance to meet its potential. Attached to a theatre, it serves as a convenient bistro to grab a pre-theatre dinner or a post-theatre drink. The menu is imaginative and well priced, but the dining rooms lack ambiance to enhance the food. Service is friendly, relaxed but not great. One is more likely to be distracted by dinners rushing out of the dining room to grab their theatre seat, than to spend a relaxing evening by the romantic fireplace.
