No Other Sushi Restaurant Such As This!. With the traditional woodblock print Kimonos, wooden tatami tables, on-the-floor style seating, and a long sushi bar, Mikado is certainly 5 stars from the moment one enters it. The fish is extremely fresh, the food is well prepared, the staff are very friendly and focus on customer satisfaction, and Mikado is very affordable! I recommend this restaurant to everyone!
who's the sushi chef now?. i'm used to work at mikado rest..exemployee actually,i was sushi helper from the beginning, then i got more skill from many japanese chef and vietnamese chef,i learn a lot of many kind of sushi, how to take care a fresh fish too...we always serve a fresh sushi...cause customer satisfy is our priority.
under new management.
Mikado seems to be under new management and it has really gone downhill as a result. The service was terrible- Our entrees came BEFORE our appetizers and they didn't seem to understand when we complained. We had to ask for rice, and again, they acted as if this was a major imposition. And they never once re-filled our water glasses.
The food was ok but the Sashimi portion was much smaller than it used to be.
But the real deterrent was the brusque and inefficient service.
Not really impressed by the sushi.... I went to dinner there on a date once and I ordered sushi while my date ordered the mikado steak. The steak was fantastic, but the sushi I ordered was not good at all. It didn't taste fresh and it made me feel a little queasy. I don't know if I would recommend it for the sushi, but if you have a hankering for a really tender flavorful steak, you won't be at a loss.
Best sushi with friendly and excellent service. Have eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. Try the house salad with ginger dressing. The specialty rolls are very good also. I eat sushi and sashimi and it is always fresh and tasty. You can sit outside now which is nice.
Unusual Japanese specialties make this one of the Main Line's more interesting menus..
Look for a long sushi bar, traditional Japanese woodblock print robes worn by the servers, and the pebble garden beneath th sunken booth seating area at this comfortable Japanese eatery. Diehard sushi fans will have to deliberate over the wide variety of tempting special rolls like the Traffic Light or the ume-shiso maki. The house hot pots and the lobster tempura are worthy alternatives.
I love this place!. Mikado is a great restaurant. My boyfriend and I dine here on a regular basis (every weekend). The best meal is the Chicken Katsu--generous portion and the BEST sauce. They also offer a wide variety of appetizers and sushi rolls. Truly a five-star restaurant!!!!
