Lansdale >La Campagnola
LOVE La Campagnola! My fav Italian restaurant!. Have to say this is one of my favorite authentic Italian restaurants!!! This place has AMAZING food and great desserts! A few of my favorites are the Chicken Parm & Chicken Frank Sinatra, which is out of this world. Delicious garlic bread, my guilty pleasure. Dessert.. Peanut Butter Bomb, yum! I have had only wonderful experiences with the family and staff. It is always a pleasure to go in for lunch or dinner. It is BYOB which is nice. They do offer complimentary glass of wine. I love supporting local family run restaurants!
Stay away...you have been warned.. I have to agree with the majority of nay sayers for this place! I have never in my life experienced such an unprofessional owner! My neighbors told me before I ever tried the food, that "she" is nasty! What? And she wants people to come back? I took my daughter there the other day..we are both watching our weight. We ordered salads, which are costly, drinks and an entre to split. The waitress came back and said that we MUST order two entres! I have to say WHAT AGAIN? She said there is no sharing and we MUST order another entre to eat there. With that, I told my daughter to get her jacket and I walked out. In this day and age of unemployment, wages being cut, eateries closing...I went somewhere else and I will NEVER go back there again. I will tell all of my friends to not go back as well. They do not deserve to be in business. BTW, the place was empty and they lost my sale too! Someone else called it HORRIBLE, I do too!
HORRIBLE!!. The worst service, a lot of yelling, terrible food!!! Had to pay $10.00 for a salad I didn't even get...she kept saying I will get it for you, like I was bothering her. If you have money you just want to throw away eat here. HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!
Go to Valentino's. Good food but expensive. No salad with dinner. Noisy. Chaotic wait staff. I went twice and never again.
Terrible Food and Service. Let me start out by saying that I have never written a review about a restaurant before, but I really feel like people should know how bad this place is.We decided to try this place-what a mistake that was. There was no taste to any of the food. I got chicken parm. When they brought it out in was completely covered in sauce. There was enough sauce for 4 meals. It tasted so bad so we told the waiter. He took it back and never said anything. When he dropped off our check the chicken parm was still on there. So when we went up to pay we said something about it. The girl was like hang on let me get someone. An older woman came out and she was like nothing was wrong with it my husband chef he taste it it fine. So we tried to argue with her but she was pretending she could not understand us. We ended up paying 15.99 for that meal and ate nothing. The 2 other meals we got were terrible too--so it was a big waste of money. I do not know how that place stays in business!!
At first it seems like a decent place, but as I entered to yelling I was alarmed. I then had to wait until said disagreement was settled until I could get the attention of the miserable female who appeared to be the owner.
She acted like she was very bothered and that our presence was foreign to them, like we didnt belong.
During my experience here I had not one but, TWO hairs in my food. Unbelievable!
The service was poor, his attitude was like he was rushing to get out of work to get a fix or something.
Also while I was there, the family was constantly fighting in italian. Yelling across the restaurant as my girlfriend and I ate dinner, I couldnt believe it.
This is one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had. I heard a few bad reviews, but came unbiased and open minded. The infamous stigma came through!
And I even had to pay for the food with two hairs in it! YIKES!
Great food, but the yelling is real.
The food here is great. I go there all the time, and I've never had a bad meal. The Gnocchi Rose is my favorite, and I also highly recommend the chicken parmesan, the pasta primavera, and penne arcoboleno.
I do have to say though, the reviews about the family 'quarrels' are legit. I love this place, but they're not very professional. Sometimes there's a screaming child (of the owners) there, and there are sometimes family arguments in the middle of the dining room. For me, it's not a big deal and the food is what i go for, but if that would ruin the meal for you, you might want to go elsewhere.
The female owner is rather rude and obnoxious, but her kids (who comprise the majority of the waitstaff) are all really nice. I did go to a private party there once though, and the mother seemed genuinely displeased to have our business, so i probably wouldn't have a private party there again. But I still go there for dinner all the time!! The food is always great, and everyone i bring there raves.
why does anyone go here?. I have wanted to write a review about this restaurant for some time now. I live in the area and whenever this restaurant is brought up EVERYONE says the same thing, " the family who owns this restaurant is rude obnoxious unfriendly" Yes the food is good but I wll not patronize people who do not appreciate my business. I have gone here 3 times and EVERY time had a bad experience. The mother is always yelling at someone, she is just downright ignorant!! this is a place of business Leave your family quarrels at HOME. NO One wants to hear it when they go out to dinner. I just wonder how long before they go out of business! I must say I miss the Chicken Frank Sinatra but I refuse to ever step foot in that place again. They need to learn Customer service with a SMILE and then some!!!
The Food was Excellent. My wife and I ate there last night. Upon arrival we announced we were a party of two for dinner and were told to wait in the lobby. No problem. We were seated in about five minutes. Then waited for about 15 minutes before anyone toke notice. We already knew what we wanted since the menus were given to u as soon as were seated. I said we were sharing (I did not see the notice in the menu that sharing was not allowed) and ordered an appetizer and an entrée for both of us. Then I tried to order a side caesar salad, but I was told I could not even though the menu listed caesar salad as an appetizer. So I ordered an extra side house side since one came with the entree. Then we received our salads in two minutes. After finishing our salads the appetizer and entrée were both brought out together. We were surprised and asked the waitress if she could hold the entrée until we finished the appetizer. She promptly told us that since sharing is not allowed (first time I am aware) and there were two seated at the table she had to bring out two dishes. It reminded me of the soup Nazi on Seinfeld. Even though we shared the appetizer and the entrée we still brought some of the entrée home. I guess if you know what to expect ahead of time this is a good place for great food but don’t expect any flexibility in their “rules”.
the best restaurant. This place is the most delicious place ever. I love the the Shrimp with the spicy suace. I came here last saturday night with my husband and kids. Even though we made a reservation we still had to wait but it was worth it. They said we had a 5 min wait but they really sat it like 2 seconds which was great. We had a young lady and she was so nice. She made the meal very lovely. The garlic bread was awesome and great. By the end of the meal we were so full we did not even had room for dessert but I promise next time I come we are going to get dessert. It was truly a great vistit.
