Simply calling this place a cheese shop is an insult. It's a culinary mecca, a must-see for anyone who has ever eaten and enjoyed food.
Watch out Online. I have to tell you that I purchased from DiBruno's online. I was searching for Duck Breast and was happy to find it there. Since I was going to pay for a refrigerated box, I went ahead and purchased parm cheese as well. Unfortunately for me, the duck breast was out of stock and unlikely to be in for the future, so they sent me an email that they refunded the cost of the breast and went ahead and sent the cheese. That's a ton of shipping for just one piece of cheese. When I called, they said they has already sent it and there was nothing they could do. Please beware if you order online from them. . .seems they can be a bit underhanded.
Authentically Italian. Wonderful. Meats are great as are the cheeses. Been to Italy and some of its best restaurant and I will say the quality of the parma di proccuito at dibruno Bros is a taste of some of Italy's best restaurants. The salamis and pepperoni's are wonderful as well.
Large Quality Cheese Selection.. Wonderful selection of cheese, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar's Etc. I am sorry to say the soppressata is not the real thing. The authentic kind for one thing is always found hanging with no wrapping to air dry instead of stacked on a shelf like they display it. The fresh sheeps milk ricotta brought in from Calabria is excellent!
Why make your own when the DiBruno Bros. do a much better job..
In Short
Loyal patrons who once endured long lines and little elbow room in Di Bruno's original Italian Market location have a little more space to stand. Just a block or so north, in a former butcher shop, another DiBruno's Pronto handles takeout. DiBruno's Pronto serves the sae fast and fresh fare available in the Rittenhouse location: proscuitto sandwiches drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar, fresh mozzarella and tomato, imported tuna salads.
I love this place!. I usually get my lunch from here at least once a week. I also get my cheese, olives, and bread from here. I've never been dissatisfied.
