Among the rudest service I've encountered.
It is rare that I write a review for any business, but I really feel this shop does not deserve anyone's business.
I was there for my third visit recently, and I have to say that the owner and salespeople are so rude that I will no longer purchase anything from them. If you don't resemble middle-aged "ladies who lunch," they will scowl at you and step around you to help those who fit their desired profile. And please don't sit on the bench outside their shop. They apparently own that bench on a public sidewalk, and they like to determine who gets to sit there.
A number of Chestnut Hill businesses have come upon challenging times-I don't think that alienating people who don't fit their mold is the key to longevity.
Poor customer service. I was given a gift certificate to this store as a present. I had never shopped here before because I thought the merchandise was skewed toward older women. I was surprised when I actually went and found a few youthful trinkets. I purchased an item and still had a balance left on the gift certificate. The saleswoman told me that they keep a record of balances at the store and the next time I came in, I simply had to give them my name. She filed my receipt away and I thought all was well. I recently went back to the store and low and behold the same woman could not find my receipt. I don't understand why not, considering their filing system is so advanced...NOT! In a small index card sized box there were tons of receipts jammed in and mine had magically disappeared. She basically made it seem like it was my fault and on my way out said, "oh, sorry." Not only did they lose my money but my business and respect. This is no way to operate a business and they clearly do not care about customer satisfaction at this store.
Bad Service. This store gave me the impression after shopping there once that the old stodgy women of Chestnut Hill are out for BLOOD, and this blood isnt the blue blood they would like to think it is. I made a purchase and was very RUDELY treated from the sales woman at the register. Others in the store were very very pleasant, and unfortunately this BAD APPLE made the whole experience sour. To make matters worse, I got the items home to have one break immediately, I then went to email them from the email on their website, and it came back to me, as a bad email adress. Not good.......
